I'm 38 yrs old, and I've had two of these over the past 9 years. All I need from a phone is to call and text. I build houses for a living, and this fits in my pouches perfectly and is extremely durable. I will continue to buy this phone for as long as they make it.

Was not an UPGRADE. It was a REPLACEMENT for the SAME phone. The insurance was NOT honored and I was charged for an UPGRADE at the cost of $35.00 UPGRADE FEE.

When I go to contacts to message inside of contacts my texting letters do not work good. It will only let me type first letter to every number. Say I want to try b or c on my texts it will only let me type a on number 2. On basic phone. I tried tech support and they said they will do what they can. Plus nothing changed there. I tried rebooting my phone and nothing happened. I tried turning on and off my phone and nothing happened and until several times I turn off my phone it finally works right.

Thank you for reporting this issue to us. We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have received a small number of reports of this multi-tap problem occurring, typically after a software update. We haven’t been able to identify the root cause, because the problem is rare and goes away after a while. We're glad that your phone is working correctly now. For others who see this problem, below is a procedure which a couple users said resolved this problem for them.

1. Go into the Message app and open a message as if you were going to reply to that message

2. Press the left soft key and select “Abc”

3. Press the end key to exit the Message app

4. Power off the phone and power it back on again

Other users reported that the problem went away after they turned their phone off and on 3 or 4 times. Kyocera

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

This is a replacement phone for my 94-year-old mother. Her original flip phone died and this was a replacement. I went through Verizon because it’s the same phone she had and there would be no need to teach her a new phone. Other flip phones were available at the Big Box electronic store for about $275 less but again, I didn’t want her to have to learn a new phone.

Will this phone get a software update so we can get apps on this phone ? Hardware is very capable of having a light mode of android but shouldn’t stop us from having google maps/ android auto and pandora

Yes, the Kyocera DuraXV Extreme+ has location services, including GPS and a barometric pressure sensor that enables floor-level accuracy for emergency calls through NextNav's Pinnacle vertical location technology, fulfilling FCC E911 requirements. While not a smartphone, the device supports location services for emergency dispatches and can share its geographical location with other services, though it doesn't run apps from the Google Play Store. ~Jorge

why won't my phone receive group texts?

DuraXV Extreme+ supports group messaging, but you will need to turn on the group messaging setting. You can do this by launching the Message app, pressing the Right Softkey (labeled "Options"), and choosing Settings. Then select "8.Group messaging" and turn it on or off.
