I just got this phone a few months ago, and it's horrible! Beyond what I imagined possible! None of the basic features (gallery, settings, camera, etc.) work well at all. Everything is so poorly designed. Worst decision I have ever made. I hate this phone.

Long overdue review. Everything about this device is fantastic. I have purchased the Pixel line from day one and this is by far the best yet. The Android experience is the best on Pixels. The fold screen is amazing and I can finally get things done on my phone. If you need a device to work hard this is your device. If you need your device to be an actual phone to make calls with, this is not your device. I am constantly dropping service in places I did not drop with my previous Pixel. I am constantly missing phone calls because they do not ring through if I am on a call. The people report that it just rings on their end till voicemail picks up. I only know someone called when I actually look at the phone and see a missed call. I believe there the be some kind of glitch with the Phone by Google App because I have installed 3rd party software and do not have the same issue, but because the interface is so much better on the Google App I just keep missing calls. So that's it. Great device, great software, just not a great phone for y'know phone calls.

I was excited about this phone. I've had Pixel 2,3,4,6,8, and went to the fold. I am on my third phone in less than 9 months. The first phone was working great but then the inner screen started going black in places. Then it just stopped working altogether. That was almost 2 months if use and no drops or damage. They sent a refurbished as a replacement and it worked well for awhile too. Then one day it wouldn't charge. The phone said it couldn't read the battery level, so it wouldn't do a thing. I'm typing this review on the 3rd phone. This is what really did it though. They said the only way to switch to a new phone was to pay it off at $1600. Where is the $800 credit for trading in the Pixel 8? They only give you a little bit of that per month as you pay your phone off, so it doesn't apply.
The purchase of this phone is a real craps shoot. Do you feel lucky?

Yes, I'd recommend this product.
I have been using smart phones going back to 2003 and I have seen so many new technologies come and go but I truly believe folding phones like the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold, are where smartphones are heading. I hate the iPhone but even Apple is set to release a folding smartphone. With Google's Pixel Folding phones, you get an outer screen that looks and functions just as well as any other smartphone but with the Folding versions, you can open it up and use it like a tablet. Normally I don't like watching videos, TV shows and movies on my phone but since the inner screen is twice the size. That makes it way more interesting and enjoyable. The battery life is great and the phone feels like any other smart phone while it's folding together. I have also noticed that with Verizon, I can pull in signals I am not able to with AT&T and T-Mobile, while I'm using my Pixel. So even the phone itself can give you an advantage in terms of signal strength. My favorite smartphones have actually a few different modern day RAZR's from Motorola but now it's tied with Google. Oh and since Pixel's are the iPhone's of Android. You get access to features that you don't get access to from other Android phones. As long as Google continues putting out great Pixel Folding phone, then I will remain loyal to Google. If you love the idea of being able to watch movies on a large Tablet-like phone but you also want to be able to fold it closed and fit it into your pocket. Then the Google Folding phone lineup is for you!
Oh and if you are using Verizon, then you have access to their satellite texting service for free with the Pixel 9's and above.

Verizon avoids warranty . 6 months ago
The phone itself works well. However at 6 months, the inside screen cracked. I went to the local Verizon store, and was told opening and closing a folding phone was physical abuse. They said the only way to get it fixed was to pay $100 deductible on the insurance. It's ridiculous that a phone that was designed to open and close, they don't want to cover under warranty. I did go to another Verizon store, and I have a repair scheduled.

Phone froze right out of the box. Messed up when trying to connect to blue tooth. And animated texting wouldn’t work. Too many issues from day one. Awesome looking phone but too many small problems.
