Is email not working on your iPhone? When your email isn’t working, removing and re-adding the email account can fix the issue.

To remove an iPhone email account:

1. Open Settings, then Mail > Accounts.
2. Choose the email account to remove. Tap Delete Account (or Sign Out).
   1. Good to know: The email account is removed from your phone but your account isn’t canceled.

To re-add:

1. Open Settings > Mail.
2. Tap Account > Add Account.
3. Choose the service and add your account details.

Is email not working on your Android phone? When your Android phone’s email) isn’t working, you can often fix the issue quickly. Just remove your email account then add it back.

To remove an Android phone email account:

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap Passwords then choose the email account to remove.
3. Tap Remove account and confirm.

Good to know: Your Gmail service will be removed but your Google Account won't be deleted.

To re-add the account, open Settings.Then tap Passwords and choose the email account to add.

• Try connecting to other services. You may be having Verizon network or Wi-Fi connection issues:
  • Visit a website using an app that connects to the Internet. Is the page loading slowly?
  • Make a phone call. Does the voice sound choppy?
  • Send a text message. Does the text take a long time to be received?
• Check your email app settings to see if the sync interval needs to be changed.
• Certain email providers (e.g., Yahoo, AOL, Microsoft, etc.) require a specific app to manage your email. If you aren’t sure which app to use, contact your email provider for help.
• Sign in to your email from another device (e.g., different phone, computer, etc.). If the issue persists, contact your email provider for help.
• Check that the email address you’re sending to is correct. If you didn’t receive an email , check if the other party is sending to your correct email address.
  
• Remove your email account from your device and set it back up as a new account. This can resolve issues with settings or login details.

If you can’t receive email on your Android phone or tablet or your iPhone or iPad, try these steps:

• Certain email protocols (e.g., POP3, etc.), let you set your email app to leave a copy of the message(s) on the server. Check your email app settings; is this option enabled? If so, your email may be deleted from the phone but is still on the server.
• Try connecting to other services. You may be having Verizon network or Wi-Fi connection issues.
• Remove your email account from your device and set it back up as a new account. This can resolve issues with settings or login details.

Email messages automatically synchronize between mobile devices and email servers. If your messages aren't appearing or don't match between your device and the server, try restarting your device. If that didn’t work, check these:

• Is an outage affecting your email provider? Check your email while using a different device. Or contact your email provider for help.
• If your connection to the internet is weak or unstable, this can contribute to sync issues. Make sure you can perform other tasks (e.g., access a web page, using a different app, etc.).
• Check the email app settings and make sure you're using the right username and password. If you changed your password, re-enter it on your device.

Are you trying to send a file by email and it's not working? Several reasons may cause the email to fail:

• File size - Most email providers, mobile devices and email clients limit the size of files that can be attached. Try reducing the size of file(s) you want to send. If the file is hosted elsewhere, try sharing a link instead.
• Unsupported format - If your email app tells you the file format (e.g., .doc, .pdf, .jpg, etc.) is unsupported, try converting the file to another format. If the file is hosted elsewhere, try sharing a link instead.
• File not attached - If you're attaching a file, make sure you didn’t delete the file from your device before you sent the message.

Here are reasons you may not be able to upload a file as an attachment. Or can’t download a file that was attached to a message you received:

• Check your settings. Is your email app set to upload/download files only if connected to Wi-Fi?
• Most email providers, mobile devices and email clients limit the size of files you can attach to a message. If sending, try reducing the size of your files. If receiving, ask the file sender to reduce the size.
• Make sure your device is connected to the Verizon network or a Wi-Fi network. Your device must be connected to the internet to send and receive emails.
• Does your mobile data plan limit data use each month? If you reach your monthly data allowance., messages fail or have slower speeds. Try connecting to a Wi-Fi network or change to an Unlimited data plan if possible.
• If your message or the file(s) attached to it contain sensitive information (e.g., Social Security, Tax ID, account numbers, etc.), your mail server may block the message unless it’s encrypted.

If you got an email with attached files but can’t view the files, it may be because:

• Unsupported format - If your device can’t read the file’s format (e.g., doc, CSV, etc.), try to find and install an app that can read that particular file format.
• Corrupt file - Files can lose data during transmission and become corrupt. Try to access the file with a different device. Or ask the sender to check the file.
• Security settings - Settings on a secured or corporate email account’s email server may prevent sending or downloading attachments. Check with your email administrator.
• Storage/Memory - A phone low on memory or storage may have trouble opening or downloading attachments. Try deleting any files you're not using and try again. Be sure to back up any important info first.
• Email app issues - Sometimes an email app can have software bugs. Be sure to keep your email app up to date to avoid bugs.
