On Nov. 17, customer appreciation took the form of chalk talk at a Monday Night Football viewing party at One Buccaneer Place. The event created the opportunity for Verizon to bring two vital groups together for one great event – valued Verizon residential and business customers and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Verizon FiOS is an official corporate sponsor of the Bucs, designated as “the official Internet provider of the Buccaneers.” Among the many benefits associated with the sponsorship is the opportunity to hold events at One Buccaneer Place, the team’s headquarters, practice and training facility.
75 guests joined members of the Buccaneers organization and Verizon’s local leadership team, led by Jeanmarie Milla, Florida region president for Consumer and Mass Business. Customers enjoyed light food and refreshments; photo opportunities with the Swashbucklers and the Bucs’ Super Bowl trophy; and autographs from players Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Mason Foster and Lavonte David.
The highlight of the evening occurred during the pregame for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans game. Customers gathered in the auditorium used by the team for meetings and film study, sitting in the very seats players use daily. After a greeting from Jeanmarie, Head Coach Lovie Smith joined her on stage to diagram plays from the Bucs’ victory over the Steelers earlier this year, utilizing the coach’s clicker and a massive video screen to explain nuances of the Tampa Two defense, pass coverage techniques and key blocks. Smith also answered questions before the audience settled in for the kick-off.
At Verizon, we have work because our customers value our services. We were happy to express our appreciation to some of those customers during the event at One Buc Place, and we look forward to more opportunities to spread the love in the future.
