There are many ways to say thanks to Armed Forces members and their families for their selfless service. One Verizon team came up with a very special surprise for one of our own.

In observance of Military Appreciation Month, our Chandler, AZ, call center team sent over several care packages filled with supplies, snacks and 45 heartwarming handwritten letters to an active military member and current V Teamer Chris Valledor to keep his spirits up.

Chris is deployed overseas on a mission that’s a year long and is six months into his tour. Back home, he left his wife and a daughter, and the team that keeps him in their thoughts every day. After he received the packages, his Chandler team held a video call with him as he opened the boxes.

Customer Service Advocate Philomena Hannon said, "Chris was very structured in how he led our team everyday. When he was my supervisor, our whole team felt like a family. Even after I was no longer on his team, he’d always check in. That’s what family does!"

Chris can now share the love from his call center team with his troop on a mission.

Starting Thursday, June 27, we have something special for all our military members, veterans and their families.

  • Military families get $100 when they switch or activate a new 4G LTE smartphone on a new line of wireless service.
  • Veterans and non-active members will receive a Prepaid Mastercard and Active military will receive a bill credit.

To get the military discount, they can simply go to https://www.verizon.com/military/, click on “Enroll today to take advantage of your discount”, then log in to their My Verizon account to upload verification documents.
