Meet V Teamer Priyansh Nigam, a Senior Manager with our Tech Product Management team, based in Atlanta, GA.

Priyansh oversees the development of Verizon’s Gizmo Watch series, the award-winning kids’ smartwatches that give parents peace of mind that their children are safe while they are having fun.

He shared some background on his and his family’s life, including how he grew up in a small town in India and that he met his wife of 15 years in graduate school. He also shared that they have two children, a 12-year-old daughter and a 7-year-old son.

When his son Ahaan was around 9 or 10 months old, he didn’t crawl, and Priyansh noticed that when he and his wife would communicate with him, he wouldn’t look at them.

“I started looking for developmental pediatricians to evaluate him,” said Priyansh, “and he shared the difficult news that he was on the autism spectrum.”

His family’s focus immediately shifted to try and find ways to give Ahaan a better outcome.

“Adversities bring out the best in you,” Priyansh said. “Ahaan has made us better individuals, but it has also increased the bond that we share as a family.”

Priyansh then went on to describe a scary incident in which the Gizmo watch product he oversees brought his son back to safety. Because the Gizmo watch offers real-time tracking capabilities, one day, he and his wife learned that his son did not get off the bus. Through the watches real-time tracking, he was able to track down Ahaan and call the school to ensure his safety.

Priyansh expressed how grateful he is to have the watch, which gives his family peace of mind.

He also noted that the most important part of his job is that his family can use the products he creates. "My kids–they're the actual customers, and they provide me feedback; that's my motivation,” said Priyansh. “Everyday, our focus is to make something that is of a better use or makes life easier for everyone.”

The Gizmo Watch 3 is now available in Blue Clay and Mint colors for $4.17 a month for 24 months on Verizon Device Payment, and we’ve got a great deal if you need more than one Gizmo Watch. For a limited time, if you buy one Gizmo Watch 3, we’ll give you $100 off a second one so your kids won’t be fighting over who gets to wear it. Click here to learn more.
