From modernizing its technology systems to providing greater and more expansive choice, the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) Innovators Network is hard at work identifying new (and improving existing) solutions that can improve veterans’ daily lives.
Verizon sponsored the VA’s second annual Innovation Demo Day, held at Georgetown University on August 8, 2017. The event was an opportunity for innovation specialists from over 40 VA medical centers to pitch new ideas and collaborate on easier and faster healthcare services for veterans. Specialists also focused on improving the agency’s internal operations. Verizon was onsite with five of its technology providers, emphasizing the powerful role that connectivity plays in driving healthcare innovation and discussing solutions that could improve timeliness and speed of service.
Think about what connectivity means to the VA today. It allows providers to easily engage veterans and enables better management of chronic-care conditions through real-time data. Verizon will continue to support the VA’s connectivity efforts and hopes to identify solutions for the concepts pitched during Demo Day.
“Verizon plays an important role in connecting many providers to veterans and with helping to power the VA’s mobile workforce and Internet of Things,” said Gary DeVoe, a senior client partner for Verizon Enterprise Solutions. “Through our integrated solutions and the dynamic ecosystem of our channel providers, we support the VA’s mission in delivering the best veteran experience.”
