Verizon Fios Home Internet military & veterans FAQs

Eligible military members and veterans can get a monthly discount on Verizon Fios home internet service when they have or get an eligible monthly plan.

For Fios customers, the $99 setup fee is waived when you complete your qualifying Fios Home Internet order online.

Note: This discount can’t be combined with the Deals at Work discount. Limit is 1 military, first responder, teachers or nurses discount per account.

To find out if you can get Verizon Fios Home Internet at your address:

1. Visit our Home Internet page.
2. Scroll to “Check which internet service is available in your area.”
3. Enter your address details.

Military members and veterans may also qualify for:

• A monthly discount on our Unlimited plans for your mobile devices. Visit our Military discounts page to learn more.
  • Good to know: When you have both Verizon Fios Home Internet service and Verizon mobile plans, you may also be eligible for additional monthly discounts through Mobile + Home rewards.
• A $5/month discount on either Fios Digital Voice or Home Device Advisor premium 24/7 tech support for your home tech.

We offer military discounts to all US active duty, retirees, veterans, current or former Guard or reserve and Gold Star family members.

If you’re not eligible for the military discount, you may be eligible for other Verizon Fios Home Internet discounts:

• Your employer may have a discount available through Deals at Work.
  
• We also offer discounts to first responder, nurses, teachers.
  • Note: Limit is 1 military, first responder, nurses, teachers or military discount per account.

During registration, ID.me may ask you to upload a document to validate your military status. Visit the ID.me website to learn more about submitting documentation.

Your discount lasts as long as you keep the qualifying home internet services and verified military status with ID.me.

If you don’t yet have a qualifying home internet plan:

1. Visit your Plans page in My Verizon.
   • Change to an eligible plan (i.e. 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, 2 Gig).
2. Visit our military discount page.
3. Choose Check eligibility and follow the prompts to validate your military status with ID.me. If you're not yet signed up for ID.me*, you're taken through a short registration process.
4. Choose Already with Verizon. Follow the prompts to apply the military discount.

The military discount will appear on your Fios Home Internet bill in 1-2 billing cycles. You can view your bill in My Verizon.

*ID.me works with all web browsers except Internet Explorer.

If you’re not yet a Verizon Fios Home Internet customer yet:

1. Visit our military discount page.
2. Choose Check Eligibility to make sure Fios is available at your address. Then follow the prompts to verify your military status through ID.me.
3. Follow the prompts to choose an eligible home internet plan (i.e. 300 Mbps, 500 Mbps, 1 Gig, 2 Gig)
4. Choose New to Verizon. Follow the prompts to apply the military discount.

The military discount will appear on your Fios Home Internet bill in 1-2 billing cycles. You can view your bill in My Verizon.

• You can change to a different eligible plan any time and the associated discount will be applied.
