The new Fios TV® Voice Remote is a much smaller, sleeker and more advanced remote than many. It offers voice commands and even has a "find my Fios TV Voice Remote" feature in case it ever gets misplaced. It's convenient, intuitive and mostly--it's just fun to use.

Features

Find my Fios TV Voice Remote

If you misplace your Fios TV Voice Remote, press the power button on the Fios TV One twice. The Fios TV Voice Remote that’s paired with that Fios TV One will start making a beeping sound. When you find the Fios TV Voice Remote, press any button on the Fios TV Voice Remote to silence the beeping.

Motion-activated light

There is a sensor on the back of your Fios TV Voice Remote that activates the Fios TV Voice Remote light when it detects motion—making it easier for you to see the Fios TV Voice Remote in the dark.

Wireless Bluetooth connection

The Fios TV Voice Remote connects with your Fios TV One via a wireless Bluetooth connection so it will still work if your Fios TV One is hidden in a cabinet or other non-metal enclosure—as long as it’s not farther than 25 feet away.

Note: if your Fios TV One is enclosed, please make sure it gets adequate ventilation to prevent overheating.

Fios TV Voice RemoteVoice search - The fastest way to use your Fios TV Voice Remote is by pressing and holding the Voice Search button to say what you want to watch. Just say what you’re looking for, like “What’s on tonight.” You may also find movies by naming your favorite actor, tune to a channel, turn on subtitles, access the Guide and much more! You can control your DVR or VOD playback by saying “Fast forward one minute” or “Rewind thirty seconds”.
Just remember to hold the button down while speaking and then release.

Menu - The Menu button takes you to the main on-screen menu. From there, use the ring surrounding the OK button on the Fios TV Voice Remote to move between menu options.

Guide - The Guide button takes you directly to the programming grid guide. Pressing the Guide button again brings up a selector that allows you to choose another view.

Navigation ring and OK/Select - Press the navigation ring segments for up, down left or right and the OK buttons to navigate and make onscreen selections.

Using Navigation ring buttons to Skip Forward and Back - Press the Left and Right navigation ring segments to skip video forward or back while using the DVR or watching Video on Demand.

Back (arrow) button - Go back to the previous screen.

Exit button - The exit button will leave your current menu location or screen and return you to normal TV viewing.

Info button - Press the Info button to get more details on the show you're watching.

Mute Button - Use this button to mute the sound from your TV. Play/Pause, Rewind and Fast Forward buttons - Use the Play/Pause, Rewind and Fast Forward buttons to control the following:

  • Live TV
  • Video On Demand (where allowed)
  • DVR recorded programs
  • Tapping the Fast Forward or Rewind buttons increases or decreases the video speeds
Note: A long press of the Fast Forward or Rewind jumps you back towards the beginning of shows, and/or forward to the live point of currently airing programs.

Channel / Page +/- - Use the Channel plus and minus buttons to choose one channel up or down in the guide or to page up or down when viewing the Guide.

Last button - The Last button jumps back and forth between the last two programs you were watching.

Record - Use this button to record any show that you’re watching on live TV. It will record back to the moment you started watching that program.

With the Fios TV Voice Remote, you can use your voice to tell your Fios TV One what to do. Simply press and hold the microphone button to give commands. Speak normally and hold the Fios TV Voice Remote about 12 inches from your mouth. If held too closely, your voice may come across distorted and difficult for the Fios TV Voice Remote to understand.

Pairing your Fios TV Voice Remote

  • Steps to pair your Fios TV Voice Remote with Fios TV One or Fios TV One Mini.

    1. Point the Fios TV Voice Remote toward the Fios TV One you wish to pair it with,
    2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and “O” buttons at the same time,
    3. Release the buttons when the blue light starts flashing on the Fios TV Voice Remote,
    4. When the blue light stops flashing on the Fios TV Voice Remote, your Fios TV Voice Remote is connected, paired and ready for use.
  • Steps to control your TV or Audio using your Fios TV Voice Remote.

  • After you’ve paired your Fios TV Voice Remote to your set top box, HDMI-connected TVs and Audio systems should automatically be detected and be controlled by your Fios TV Voice Remote.

    1. Go to Menu > Settings > Voice control > Fios TV Voice Remote > Program Voice Remote > Automatic Setup
      1. Once the automatic setup completes you’ll see a “Success” message in the top right of the TV screen,
      2. If this does not work for you, please skip to step 2.
    2. Go to Menu > Settings > Voice control > Fios TV Voice Remote > Program Voice Remote > Manual Setup
      1. Select your TV or Receiver Brand and Model and follow the steps,
      2. You will see a “Success” message in the top right of the TV screen when the setup is complete.

  • How do I start using my Fios TV Voice Remote?

  • Pull out the plastic tab located on the bottom and your Fios TV Voice Remote is ready to use! Your Fios TV Voice Remote comes with two AA Alkaline batteries already installed, and your Fios TV One will always tell you right on screen when your batteries are low and need replacement.

  • How do I Control My Fios TV One?

  • Your Fios TV Voice Remote should pair with your Fios TV One automatically. On-Screen messages will indicate pairing progress and status.

    If your Fios TV One doesn’t automatically recognize or respond to your Fios TV Voice Remote, follow the on-screen prompts and simply press and hold the play/pause and the ‘0’ buttons at the same time on the Fios TV Voice Remote until the LED flashes blue. Point the Fios TV Voice Remote towards the box that you wish to pair it with, and it should pair itself automatically. Your Fios TV Voice Remote will now control the interface of your Fios TV One.

  • How do I configure my Fios TV Voice Remote to control the volume and power of my TV or audio receiver?

  • If your TV and audio equipment are connected to your Fios TV One via HDMI and are CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) compliant, your Fios TV Voice Remote will use “Quickset” to automatically pair with your TV and/or audio system. CEC is an HDMI feature designed to allow your Fios TV Voice Remote to command and control up to ten CEC-enabled and connected devices.

    CEC must be enabled and turned on in each component of your system that you wish to control. Please consult the individual user manuals for your entertainment system components for more information.

  • How do I pair a new Fios TV Voice Remote to my Fios TV One?

  • If your Fios TV Voice Remote stops working and you’ve already checked the batteries and made sure you’re using the correct Fios TV Voice Remote for that TV, or if you received a brand new Fios TV Voice Remote in the mail, you may need to pair the new Fios TV Voice Remote. Simply point the Fios TV Voice Remote towards the Fios TV One that you wish to pair it with, press and hold the play/pause and ‘0’ button on the Fios TV Voice Remote until it flashes blue, and it should pair itself automatically. Your Fios TV Voice Remote will now control the interface of your Fios TV Box.

    Please note: Just remember that only one Fios TV Voice Remote at a time can be paired with any single Fios TV One.

  • What kind of batteries does the Fios TV Voice Remote use?

  • Your Fios TV Voice Remote uses two (2) alkaline AA batteries. When you receive it, two fresh batteries will already be inserted. When the batteries are running low and need to be replaced, you will see a message on your TV screen letting you know.

  • Why is my Fios TV Voice Remote having trouble understanding me?

  • You must press and hold the blue Mic button while speaking so the Fios TV One can respond to your search requests and commands.

    Speak normally and hold the Fios TV Voice Remote about 12 inches away from your mouth. If held too closely, your voice may be distorted and difficult for your Fios TV Voice Remote to understand.

  • Help! I can’t find my Fios TV Voice Remote!

  • If you misplace your Fios TV Voice Remote, click the power key on the Fios TV One twice. The Fios TV Voice Remote will start making a beeping sound. Pressing any key on the Fios TV Voice Remote will silence the beeper.

  • Will my Fios TV Voice Remote work if hide my Fios TV One in a cabinet or closet?

  • Your Fios TV Voice Remote connects or “pairs” with the Fios TV One wirelessly, allowing you to “hide” your Fios TV One in a cabinet or other non-metal enclosure. Just make sure your Fios TV One gets adequate ventilation to prevent over-heating the electronics.

  • Sometimes my TV or audio device won’t respond to my Fios TV Voice remote!

  • Even though Your Voice Remote communicates with your Fios TV One or Fios TV One Mini wirelessly, it still controls your TV functions (On/Off; Volume up-down, Mute and input) using infrared light like a traditional remote. Always point your Fios TV Voice Remote at the TV or audio device you wish to control.

  • If I hide my Fios TV One, how can I use my Fios TV Voice Remote to control my TV Power, Volume and Mute?

  • Once paired, the Fios TV Voice Remote uses wireless BlueTooth technology to communicate with the Fios TV One. It should work normally as long as you are within about 25’ of your Set-Top and it is not enclosed in a metallic cabinet.

    Your TV or AV system commands are sent to your devices via traditional Infrared signals (line of sight) or by CEC if they are connected to each other with HDMI cables.

    For CEC, your TV and AV systems must be CEC enabled. CEC must be turned on in each component of your system. Please consult the individual user manuals for your entertainment system components for more information.

  • How do I control my TV or Audio using the Fios TV Voice Remote?

  • After you've paired your Fios TV Voice Remote to your set top box, HDMI connected TVs and Audio systems should automatically be detected and be controlled by your Fios TV Voice Remote.

    In some cases, you may have to manually enter your specific TV and Audio equipment information. Follow these instructions to do so:

    1. Go to Menu > Settings > Voice control > Fios TV Voice Remote > Program Voice Remote > Manual Setup > Press ‘ok’ to Select
    2. Select your TV or Receiver Brand and Model and follow the steps
    3. You will get a ‘success’ message in the upper right of the screen when the setup is complete.
  • Can I continue to use an IR extender with my Fios TV One or Fios TV ONe Mini?

  • You may use an IR extender by plugging it in to the IR/EXT jack on the back of your Fios TV One or Fios TV One Mini. Voice control and "Find my Remote" features require a paired, Fios TV Voice Remote to function. These features are not currently supported by third party IR remotes or home theater controllers.

  • How do I care for my Fios TV Voice Remote?

  • Try to treat your Fios TV Voice Remote the same way you treat your mobile phone or PC. Keep it away from high heat sources and only clean it using a slightly moist cloth.

    Do not leave dead batteries in the Fios TV Voice Remote for an extended period of time. Your Fios TV One will let you know right on screen when it is time to replace the batteries.
