Bringing 5G to Audi
Verizon is shaping the future of cars. On Tuesday, we announced an agreement to bring 5G connectivity to select models of Audi vehicles starting in 2024. The deal marks our first agreement with a global premium automaker for 5G-enabled automobiles. The collaboration brings embedded 5G Ultra Wideband connectivity into Audi vehicles and provides the speed and architecture necessary for highly personalized and augmented mobile services, new driver-assistance features and connectivity-enabled innovations for the automated future of driving.
TJ Fox, SVP of Industrial IoT and Automotive for Verizon Business, sat down with Fox Business to share the big news about a fantastic win for our Verizon Business team.
5G Edge brings media innovation
This week, we announced we're teaming with Bloomberg Media, Zixi and AWS to test how 5G and mobile edge computing (MEC) can transform how news is produced, delivered and consumed. Using Verizon 5G Edge with AWS Wavelength, Bloomberg Media will be able to deliver live 4K Ultra High Definition (known as UHD) content without the need for satellites, allowing for fast and efficient content delivery.
Thanks for the thanks
We want to express our gratitude to everyone who contributed to our Jamboard thanking our engineers. As National Engineers Week closes out, it’s so great to see all of you supporting our incredible engineers for the great work they do day in and day out.
Going above and beyond
Let’s celebrate some V Teamers who went above and beyond the call of duty. Kudos to Retail Specialist Wes Parrish and Assistant Manager Kevin Stroker for acting quickly to help a customer in distress. They saved the customer’s life and kept everyone calm.
Thank you also to Verizon Business Director Kevin Jahoda who heard his team member Bryan Donaghy’s entire family had Covid and took it upon himself to drive an hour to bring them Gatorade and Pedialyte.
It’s courageous and selfless acts like these that inspire us all.
Big upcoming week on Up To Speed
To start the week, we’ll wrap up Black History month and on Tuesday, we’ll kick off Women’s History month. We also have Investor Day coming next Thursday, March 3, so be sure to tune in to Up To Speed.
