Verizon scored big while celebrating this weekend’s El Clasico LaLiga tournament.
We hosted watch parties in Los Angeles at Tom’s Watch Bar with the official Real Madrid Supporters group, and at Houston’s Pitch 25 – plus two additional events in New York and Miami. Fans in attendance were able to experience the match in 5G and learn more about Verizon’s 5G Home.
How big is El Clasico LaLiga? It’s huge! The match is one of most viewed annual sporting events in the world, attracting an average of 85 million to 100 million viewers hailing from 185 countries. This year, fans arrived in their fútbol finest, ready to cheer on their teams – and gear up for the storied rivalry between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Partygoers were treated to a customized El Clasico experience, thanks to 5G Ultra Wideband that made them feel like they were watching the game in Madrid or Barcelona. They also got to meet LaLiga superstars, with Houston fans meeting former Real Madrid player and 2003 UEFA Champions League top scorer Fernando Morientes in Houston, and L.A. guests hanging out with former Real Madrid player and 1998 FIFA World Cup top scorer Davor Šuker.
Fans at watch parties also learned about our ultra-fast and ultra-simple 5G Home Internet.
While Barca emerged victorious, the prizes and merch giveaways at the watch parties helped everyone walk away a winner. And the best part: Our team got the crowd excited about 5G Ultra Wideband, now available in more parts of their communities than ever!
