The week in review.

On Monday, Andy Choi took us to his hometown of Chicago where 5G Home Internet is now available to customers. Even with his two gaming and streaming roomies online, there’s more than enough bandwidth for everyone.

Then on Tuesday, Hans went to Wall Street to make a big announcement: Verizon unlimited wireless, new Fios Home Internet and 5G Home Internet customers are getting a year of Disney+ on us.  

For Wednesday’s Rundown, we covered some incredible stories across the tech landscape, from personalized live-mixing on Elton John’s final tour to the first all-women space walk.

Also on Wednesday, Tami Erwin gave the keynote speech at Mobile World Congress Americas in Los Angeles and talked about how Verizon 5G has the potential to change the world.

Verizon also announced exciting new partnerships with Corning and SAP. Corning’s fiber optic factory in now equipped with Verizon 5G and SAP will use Verizon 5G to create incredible new IoT analytic solutions.

Built on 5G Challenge narrows down to ten finalists.

Thursday, Verizon announced the ten finalists for the “Built on 5G” challenge. For the past year, start-ups and developers have been brainstorming their best apps and ideas that would benefit from the incredible speed and low latency of Verizon 5G. The first place winner will receive $1 million in funding for the development of their idea, and second and third place will receive $250,000. All winning teams will also be given access to Verizon 5G Labs to help with their development. For more information and a full list of finalists, click here.
