Happy Monday, V Team! On today’s Up To Speed live, host Raquel Wilson shared a few items on the news rundown.
A vow to never forget
We began the episode by acknowledging the anniversary of 9/11. This past Sunday marked 21 years since the attack that changed our nation forever. Today, as V Teamers, we continue to honor the thousands of lives that were lost that day, including three of our own: Donna Bowen, Derrick Washington and Leonard White.
9/11 has become a federally recognized day of service focused on honoring the memories of those we lost through giving back. Within the Citizen Verizon Volunteers Portal, you can write inspirational letters to the families of first responders who lost their lives and walk to remember their bravery and sacrifice.
The perfect phone for all
Last week was a big one for Apple lovers. We announced One Unlimited, an exclusive plan for Verizon customers that gives Apple One on us, which includes Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Arcade and iCloud+, all on the network America relies on.
And with small business days underway, now is a good time to remind you that the iPhone 14 is great for both consumer and business customers. Verizon business customers can visit our Apple Business Phones site for more information and additional offers.
NFL Kickoff
Our very own CEO of Verizon Business Sampath Sowmyanarayan and Kadie Gavan, director of Network Systems, presented the game ball at Thursday's NFL Kickoff Game between the LA Rams and Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium. A big shout-out to Sampath and Kadie for representing Verizon out on the field.
And speaking of football, we shared a special segment hosted by Communications Manager Chris Serico and two-time Super Bowl MVP and New York Giants legend Eli Manning. Chris and Eli broke down an analysis of some of the best moves in Verizon’s playbook. The segment is the perfect setup for tonight’s season debut of Eli and Peyton Manning’s “ManningCast” on ESPN2 – which you can stream, on us, through our premium wireless plans.
Special giveaways
If you’re a fan of Eli Manning, we're giving away five mini football helmets signed by Eli himself.
All you have to do is head over to Inside Verizon’s social pages on Linkedin, Instagram or Twitter, find the post with the Eli & Chris photo and comment with what you think has Eli Manning looking so excited!
Entries close this Friday so make sure you get in on this ASAP!
Will Power wings big
We’re celebrating a huge win for one of Verizon’s fastest partners. Representing Team Penske, the driver of Verizon’s #12 car, Will Power clinched his second IndyCar Championship in this weekend’s season finale. You might remember we caught up with Will earlier this year at the Indy500 as Will and Team Penske shared why the partnership with Verizon paves the way for big wins both on and off the track. Congrats Will!
VCG rallies
Last week, members of Verizon’s Consumer Group held their “Finishing 2022 Strong’ rally tour. The rallies took place across the country covering eight cities in four days. The team started with a rally in Irving, TX and ended in Basking Ridge, NJ.
