Happy Monday! On today’s Up To Speed Live, we started the week with a fun and informative live quiz hosted by Andy Choi and Communications intern Adi Wineland. Andy also shared the following updates:

A 5K with some familiar faces

It was a beautiful weekend in New Jersey for some running. A number of V Teamers got together to support a great cause at this year’s Verizon Corporate Classic 5K. CEO Hans Vestberg was at the finish line to greet our Communications colleague Diana D’Achille, who was not only the fastest on our Verizon team but the fastest female overall with a 5K time of 18:53. Congrats, Diana!

The official charity of this year’s Verizon Corporate Classic was once again the Jersey Battered Women’s Service. JBWS offers a wide range of services for survivors of domestic abuse. As in years past, our V Team was proud to help make a difference. This year, that included a donation of $10,000.

Shout out to our Aussie V colleagues

About a week ago, our Australian Security Operations Team invited Andy and Up To Speed producer Christine Henderson to a virtual meeting ‘down under’ to share with the group how we put together shows like Up To Speed. We got some great story ideas to share with all of you in future Up To Speeds. We also talked about how incredibly important it is to maintain that sense of connection with colleagues near and far. A big thank you to Troy Heland and the rest of our teammates in Australia.

This meeting took place just as it was announced that parts of Australia would extend its lockdown due to COVID-19. It is certainly a challenging time for many. We’d like to take a moment to extend our thoughts of support and encouragement to our Australian V Teamers. We’re thinking of you and wishing for the best in the days ahead.

Global Choice

As we continue celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, we want to share some news on how Verizon is connecting new wireless customers with loved ones in Latin America, on us of course, all through Global Choice.

Global Choice gives customers access to an international long distance plan offering a monthly allowance of minutes to select countries at discounted rates. Starting today, Verizon will begin offering free Global Choice for one of 11 Latin American countries to new wireless customers on Unlimited plans. Just another way we are serious about connecting our customers with the world.

Today’s live quiz

Andy and Adi hosted today’s trivia game that was focused on all of the entertainment deals we offer our customers. Today’s winners won $25 gift cards to our Verizon Brand Shop, where they can buy V Team gear.

If you’d like to play along and see how you would have fared, watch the replay. If not, here are some key facts that came up during the quiz that you can share with your friends and family:

The Disney+ bundle is included on our Play More and Get More Unlimited plans. With select Unlimited plans, Disney+ itself is on us for six months. Hulu and ESPN+ are included with the Disney+ bundle as part of the Play More and Get More Unlimited Plan. And speaking of Hulu, don’t miss out on the Handmaid’s Tale and the Veronica Mars reboot!

Our discovery+ deal is truly worth discovering. You get discovery+ on us for 12 months with Unlimited. That includes HGTV, DIY network, and much more, including your favorite shows like Fixer Upper starring Chip and Joanna Gaines.

You can buy a phone with our device payment program or sign up for Fios Home Internet to get up to 12 months of AMC+ on Verizon. You can also get early access to perhaps the greatest zombie show of all time, The Walking Dead.

Apple Music

Apple Music has over 75 million songs to stream — including one by our own Adi Wineland — and it’s included with a Get More Unlimited plan.

Apple Arcade & Google Play Pass

After you’ve listened to great songs, you can play through a library of exciting mobile games. With Get More or Play More Unlimited, you get 12 months of Apple Arcade on us or Google Play Pass on us, or with a Do More or Start Unlimited plan, you get six months of Apple Arcade or Google Play Pass on us. Reminder: You can play lots of your favorite classic games on Google Play Pass including Sonic The Hedgehog 2.

Wow. When all of our available entertainment deals are laid out in such a long list, it’s clear that the best overall value for any customer is only available from one carrier — Verizon. When you share with family, friends or even strangers, encourage them to check out all of our great plans.

And if you didn’t get a chance to play this quiz, be sure to keep tuning in to Up To Speed to catch the next one. As Andy, Hans and all of the 5K runners shouted at the finish line, “Until next time, you’re up to speed!”
