Account security and authentication
Note: Effective 8.17.22, the ZenKey app used to access Verizon.com and/or the My Fios app is being discontinued. If you use ZenKey, no action is required by you. You can continue to securely access and manage your Verizon account using your username and password.
We think about online security all the time.
So you don’t have to. We want your account to be easy to access—but only by you. At Verizon, we’re committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your online data and to keeping your account safe from cyber criminals, hackers and security breaches.
That’s why we use enhanced technologies to protect your sensitive personal information. When you set up your My Verizon account, we’ll ensure your account is as secure as possible by providing step-by-step instructions to help you.
Create a strong password.
A strong password is one of the most important defenses you have against security breaches. Our system will provide password hints and tips and prevent you from choosing one that’s too easy for other people to guess.
Choose a secret question and answer.
Next, you'll choose from a list of questions that focus on a distinct aspect of your life—like the name of your childhood best friend or the street you grew up on—and enter your unique answer.
Your secret question and answer is important because it helps us verify that it’s you accessing your account, not an unauthorized user. You’ll have to answer this question and answer whenever you sign in for the first time on an unregistered device.
Get easy access to the My Fios App.
In addition, we’re committed to delivering leading-edge technology to our customers so they can connect with us 24/7. For example, did you know that you can now log into the My Fios App using just your fingerprint with Verizon ’s Touch ID/Fingerprint?
Save time with simple sign-ins.
We hope you’ll take a minute to check out some of the other convenient features we offer to make accessing your account as simple as possible. For example, our “Remember me” option saves you time by automatically repopulating your User ID on the last computer or device you used.
As more and more of your sensitive information moves to the internet, we’ll continue to maintain our commitment to protecting your account information with best-practice safeguards, identity verification tools, and vigilant monitoring.
Sign into My Verizon to set up your four-digit PIN for additional protection and security when you call into our centers.
We’ve streamlined our authentication process to securely confirm your identity whenever you call or chat with us in the future.
The first time you contact us via phone or Chat after you’ve set up your My Verizon account, we’ll ask you to set up a four-digit PIN. It will be used to confirm your identity whenever you contact us in the future.
Note: we’ll never call you and ask for your account PIN.
Don't forget to sign out if you are on a public computer
