How to Use Digital Secure for online Security & Privacy
The Digital Secure app is available for Android™ (4.4 or later) and Apple iOS (11 or later)
The Digital Secure app can:
- Provide a single security solution that you can manage right from your device
- Help protect your device from malware and viruses
- Help protect you from malicious websites when searching the web
- Alert you when apps are accessing your private information
- Help protect you from network threats
- Provides identity theft protection for your personal information
Note: You can extend this security service to all your eligible devices by signing up for Digital Secure for your entire account.

Android
Digital Secure is preloaded on Verizon Android devices*, and it's located in your Verizon apps folder. If you can't find the app on your device:
- Open the Google Play™ Store on your device.
- Tap the Search icon.
- Enter "Digital Secure" and tap the Search icon again.
- Select Digital Secure from the search results.
Note: If you don't see Digital Secure listed in the search results, your device may not be compatible. - You'll see one of the following buttons on the screen:
- OPEN - This means the app is already on your device, and you can tap this button to open the app.
- ENABLE - This means the app is on your device, but it has been disabled. Tap this button to enable the app, and then tap OPEN to open the app.
- INSTALL - This means the app isn't currently on your device and needs to be downloaded. Tap this button and then tap ACCEPT to begin downloading. Once the app has finished installing, tap OPEN to open the app.
You've successfully downloaded Digital Secure.
*Digital Secure is not preloaded on Google Pixel phones.Apple iOS
Digital Secure is not pre-loaded on iOS devices, so you'll need to download and install it.
To download the Digital Secure app on an iOS device:- Open the Apple® App Store®.
- Tap the Search icon.
- Enter "Digital Secure" and tap Search.
- Tap Get next to Digital Secure in the search results.
- Enter your password to download and install Digital Secure.
You've successfully downloaded and installed Digital Secure.

Android and iOS
If you are subscribed to the free version of Digital Secure, and would like to switch to the premium version:- Open the Digital Secure app on your device.
- Scroll to the bottom of the home screen, and tap Learn more under "Take control of your privacy & identity".
- Choose to subscribe to Digital Secure for a single line or for your entire account, then tap Subscribe.
- Tap Continue.
Note: Account Members are only permitted to sign up for a single line.
You've successfully subscribed to Digital Secure.
Android and iOS
If you're signed up for a single line, and would like to add Digital Secure to all of the eligible devices on your account, you can change your subscription to cover your account.- Open the Digital Secure app on your device.
- Tap Protect more devices at the bottom of the screen.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the transaction.
Note: Only Account Owners and Account Managers can sign up for Digital Secure at the account level.
You've successfully upgraded to Digital Secure Account-Level.
Android and iOS
If you subscribe to Digital Secure Account-Level, you can protect up to 10 lines.
Windows and Mac OS
Paid subscribers to Digital Secure can protect unlimited home PCs and Macs.
To install Digital Secure on your devices:- Open the Digital Secure app on your phone.
- Tap Protect More Devices at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap + to add a device.
- Enter the email address or mobile number of the device you want to protect (Windows®, Mac®, Android or iOS).
- Click Text Me or Email Me.
- Open the email or text on the device you want to protect.
- Tap the link in the text or click the Download button in the email.
- Click Download and follow the onscreen prompts to finish downloading.
Android and iOS
To subscribe to the free version of Digital Secure:- Open the Digital Secure app on your phone.
- Tap Continue on the first screen to accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Tap Accept if you agree to the app permissions needed.
- Tap Skip when given the option to subscribe to a premium version of Digital Secure.
You've successfully subscribed to Digital Secure.

- Open the Digital Secure app on your device.
- Tap Continue on the first screen to accept the Terms and Conditions.
- Tap Accept if you agree to the app permissions needed.
- Choose to subscribe to Digital Secure for a single line or for your entire account, then tap Subscribe.
Upgrade from free to premium
Android and iOS
If you are subscribed to the free version of Digital Secure, and would like to switch to the premium version:- Open the Digital Secure app on your device.
- Scroll to the bottom of the home screen, and tap Learn more under "Take control of your privacy & identity".
- Choose to subscribe to Digital Secure for a single line or for your entire account, then tap Subscribe.
- Tap Continue.

If you're signed up for a single line, and would like to add Digital Secure to all of the eligible devices on your account, you can change your subscription to cover your account.- Open the Digital Secure app on your device.
- Tap Protect more devices at the bottom of the screen.
- Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the transaction.

Modify the Virus and Malware Scan Settings (Android Only)
To change the scan settings:
- Open the Digital Secure app on your device.
- Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner of the screen, then tap Settings when you get to the next screen.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Modify the scan settings as desired.
- Tap the Back button to save your changes.
You've successfully modified the virus and malware scan settings.
Manually Scan for Viruses (Android Only)
Android
You can scan for viruses manually at any time:- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Scan.
You've successfully scanned your device for viruses.
Check App Privacy (Android Only)
Android
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Get Started.
- Tap App privacy.
You'll see a list of apps that may be privacy threats. You can select an app from the list and choose to Trust or Uninstall it.
Change App Privacy Settings (Android Only)
Android
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner of the screen, then tap Settings when you get to the next screen.
- Tap Security and Privacy, and scroll to Privacy.
- Tap Schedule your scan to change the frequency of your scans.
You've successfully changed the App Privacy settings.
Manually Scan App Privacy (Android Only)
Android
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Privacy.
- Tap Get Started.
- Tap App privacy.
- Tap the Menu icon.
- Tap Scan apps.
You'll see a pop-up showing the progress of the app scan. Once complete, you'll have the option to Trust or Uninstall any apps that may be privacy threats.
Disable App Privacy (Android Only)
Android
App privacy is on by default, and provides valuable information on the data apps on your device can access. We recommend that you keep this feature on. However, if you wish to disable App privacy:- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap the Menu icon in the top right corner of the screen, then tap Settings when you get to the next screen.
- Tap Security and Privacy, and scroll to Privacy.
- Tap the Auto privacy scan switch to turn it off.
You've successfully disabled App Privacy.
Disable Web Security
Web security is on by default and provides valuable warnings about sites that host malware or are known phishing sites. We recommend that you keep this feature on. However, if you wish to disable Web security:
Android- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Web security.
- Tap the Web security switch to turn it off.
iOS
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security.
- Tap Web security.
- Tap the Protect my browsing switch to turn it off.
You've successfully disabled Web security.
Manage Wi-Fi Security (Android Only)
Manage Wi-Fi security is a setting that lets you edit your saved Wi-Fi networks that are always blocked or always allowed.
These lists prevent your device from connecting to networks that you know are unprotected to safeguard your personal data. It also lets your device automatically connect to trusted networks to avoid unnecessary data usage.
To edit your saved Wi-Fi preferences:- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Wi-Fi security.
To unblock a network:
- Tap Blocked networks under Manage Wi-Fi networks.
- Select the networks you'd like to unblock.
- Tap Remove at the bottom of the screen.
To remove an allowed network:
- Tap Allowed networks under Manage Wi-Fi networks.
- Select the networks you'd like to delete.
- Tap Remove at the bottom of the screen.
You've successfully edited your saved Wi-Fi preferences.
Scan your Wi-Fi for threats
You can manually scan your Wi-Fi for threats at any time.
Android- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Scan.
You'll see a Digital Secure icon appear in the Notification Panel. You've successfully scanned your device for Wi-Fi threats.
iOS- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security.
- Tap the Scan button.
You'll see a Digital Secure icon appear in the Notification Panel. You've successfully scanned your device for Wi-Fi threats.
Disable Wi-Fi Security (Android Only)
Wi-Fi security is on by default and provides valuable warnings about unsecure Wi-Fi networks. We recommend you keep this feature on.
However, if you wish to disable Wi-Fi security:
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security & Privacy.
- Tap Wi-Fi security.
- Tap the Wi-Fi security switch to turn it off.

Turn on Safe Wi-Fi
Android and iOS
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Safe Wi-Fi.
- Tap the button at the top of the screen to turn Safe Wi-Fi on.
You'll see a message stating that your connection is secure and private. You've successfully enabled Safe Wi-Fi.

Turn on Identity Theft Protection
Android and iOS
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Identity Theft Protection.
- Enter your email address.
- Tap Continue to complete your activation on the Identity Theft Protection web portal.
You'll receive an email with an activation link. Tap the link to be taken to the Identity Theft Protection web portal. After logging in to the web portal, you can add the personal info you'd like monitored.
Using the Digital Secure App - View Security Report and Notifications

View Security Report
Android and iOS
- Open the Digital Secure app.
- Tap Security Report.
- Your Security report will appear on the next screen. To exit, press the back button in the top left corner of the screen.
Unsubscribe from Digital Secure
If you want to cancel your paid subscription to Digital Secure, you need to unsubscribe in the app, remove it from your account in My Verizon or contact us. Uninstalling the app from your device will not unsubscribe you from the paid service.
Note: You can keep the Digital Secure app installed and continue to use the free version after unsubscribing.

My Verizon
To remove the Digital Secure service from a line on your account:
- Go to the Products & Apps page in My Verizon.
- Click the Manage Your Products tab at the top of the page.
- If you have multiple lines on your account, select the line you want to remove Digital Secure from.
- Scroll to Digital Secure and click Remove from Account.
- Choose whether you want to Remove for all lines or Keep for select lines.
- Review your changes, and then click Remove to confirm the transaction.
You've successfully unsubscribed from Digital Secure through My Verizon.My Verizon app
- Open the My Verizon app.
- Tap the menu in the top left.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Add-Ons.
- Find Digital Secure and tap Manage.
- Tap Manage next to the line you want to change.
- Choose the Remove Digital Secure option, then tap Next.
- If you have multiple lines on your account with Digital Secure, you'll have the option to remove or keep Digital Secure from them.
- Tap Continue.
- Review your changes and tap I accept the Terms & Conditions, then tap Confirm.
You've successfully unsubscribed from Digital Secure in the My Verizon app.
