Protecting Our Customer's Interests

Each year, your Verizon FiOS TV team works with content owners and programmers to continue delivering the best programming on FiOS TV. The agreements we negotiate with these companies enhance your viewing experience, with everything from the nightly lineup to Flex View, our growing on-demand library, live streaming, video description services and more. We negotiate hundreds of these agreements each year and, while we are able to reach mutually agreeable terms with the majority of our programming partners prior to any service disruptions, sometimes broadcasters and cable networks demand unacceptable price increases. Since such excessive increases would translate into significant increases in the rates you, our customers, pay each month, we will stand for you against unreasonable rate increases for TV programming. We think it is important that our customers have the latest information regarding our efforts to work with programmers to reach reasonable rates and terms, so we encourage you to visit this site regularly to stay updated on the status of our negotiations.

Update regarding Time Warner Cable SportsNet LA

Why This Happens

All cable and satellite TV providers enter into agreements with programmers for the right to carry their content. These contracts can vary in length, but typically run for a number of years. When contracts expire, it’s not unusual for programmers to try to renegotiate their agreements at a higher price, and we understand that. Sometimes we can negotiate other facets of an agreement to help hold the increases to a minimum, but that is becoming increasingly difficult. Rest assured that we will not agree to rate increases that are exorbitant and unfair to our customers or inconsistent with the rest of the industry.

Putting Customers First

Verizon works hard on behalf of our FiOS TV customers to deliver the best TV service; with the programming you have come to expect at a reasonable price. We don’t want to increase customers’ rates due to unfair price increases from programming partners, and we’ll work tirelessly to ensure that does not happen.
