In today’s afternoon episode of Up To Speed, host Raquel Wilson gave an update from Temple Terrace, Florida with the latest on Hurricane Ian.

Restoration Efforts

Verizon engineers and technicians have begun the process of assessing damage and prioritizing restoration efforts for the people of Florida. Today, we’re prioritizing assistance for first responders, emergency operation centers and search-and-rescue efforts.

Verizon has mobile assets moving into areas impacted by the storm as part of the Verizon Response Team’s efforts. These assets will be on the ground at the hardest-hit areas as soon as possible.

Donate to our Employee Relief Fund

If you’re a V Teamer being impacted by the storm, our VtoV employee relief fund is here to help you. The VtoV Employee Relief Fund is a charity that provides aid to Verizon employees displaced from their homes due to natural disasters or domestic violence. If you’re looking to give back, please be sure to donate to this fund, as 100% of all donations are going to employees who need it most.

Donate Blood

Additionally, the American Red Cross is experiencing a blood shortage in Florida. If you’re willing and able to donate blood, you can learn more here.

Unlimited talk/text/data

As a reminder, we recently announced Unlimited talk, text and data for our consumer and small business customers from September 28 through October 4. The services will be provided to those customers who reside in areas that will likely be most impacted by the storm.

Customers do not have to take any action to take advantage of the offer and can verify eligibility for call/text/data relief and entering their zip code. The site will be updated as frequently as possible.
