Happy Friday, V Team! On today's edition of Up To Speed, host Raquel Wilson shared the following updates:

Up To Speed: Week in review

Work Forward kickoff

On Monday, we kicked off our Work Forward activations for our U.S. hybrid employees. We had a special guest barista at the Starbucks in our Basking Ridge location: our Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Hans Vestberg! On Monday, Hans also celebrated his fifth anniversary as an integral V Teamer. Once again, congrats, Hans!

Also, many of our leaders have been visiting worksites across the country. Our Chief Human Resources Officer Sam Hammock was recently in Ashburn, Virginia.Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business Group, recently went to the 1095 Avenue of the Americas office in New York City to reconnect with Verizon Business colleagues. And all the way in San Diego, Peter Mitchell met with the Verizon Connect employees where he held a town hall.

A chance to win free concert tickets

We've loved seeing pictures of so many of you enjoying your Work Forward activations and reconnecting with friends, old and new. Keep them coming! Whether you're serving our customers, working from home, or at one of your worksites, we want to see your photos.

And if you send them to good@verizon.com or tag us on Instagram or Twitter at @InsideVerizon, you might be selected to attend some of the most sought-after Live Nation concerts of the season!

It's all part of our "First Access" program, in partnership with Live Nation. "First Access," the new presale ticket access for Verizon Up members, gives special access to coveted Live Nation tours before tickets go on sale to the general public.

Verizon Up is free to join, easy to use, and available via the My Verizon app. For more details, visit Verizon Up.

Tami Erwin on LAUSD panel

On Monday, Tami Erwin, CEO of Verizon Business Group, joined women leaders from the Los Angeles Unified School District and local government officials for a hybrid panel discussion on “Empowering the Women of Today and Tomorrow.”

Participants shared their thoughts on courage and risk-taking, defining success, leadership characteristics, being life-long learners, and more. The Girls Academic Leadership Academy – the district's only all-girls school focused on STEM – hosted this dynamic event.

Verizon Response Team

The Verizon Response Team is also staying busy, participating in a three-day search-and-rescue training exercise with first-responders in North Carolina.

Our team provided wireless connectivity to more than 200 participants who trained for swift water rescue and urban search-and-rescue scenarios, and interacted with K-9 units, drone pilots, and underwater search teams.

The Verizon Response team also recently completed a deployment to remote areas of California and Nevada to provide mission-critical voice and data services, helping medical professionals and Baker to Vegas relay-race organizers protect the event’s 8,000 participants.

Spanning 20 stages and crossing more than 120 miles of austere terrain, Baker to Vegas invites international law-enforcement teams from around the world to compete.

Clemson college activation

This past week, two members of our communications team, Andy Choi and Adi Wineland, stopped by Kite Hill Brewing near Clemson University in South Carolina to talk 5G Home Internet. We partnered with South Carolina artist Christine Crawford to paint a new mural for our #ACallForKindness campaign, and brewery guests even pitched in to help her complete it.

Stay tuned as Verizon continues to visit college campuses and local communities near you!

Concert in the metaverse

Thursday marked a first for Verizon: We partnered with video live streaming service Twitch on LEVELS to hold a concert in the metaverse with virtual production, harnessing the power of Verizon 5G Ultra Wideband and Edge with AWS Wavelength.

The immersive and interactive live event was held at our 5G Los Angeles Lab featuring singer-songwriter-producer Nija, who connected and interacted with fans in new ways to customize and deliver live music and streaming in real time.

One-of-a-kind gift registry

Visible, the Verizon-owned all-digital wireless carrier, and Match Group, a tech company that owns and operates the largest global portfolio of online dating services, recently announced a collaboration to celebrate singles this wedding season.

Since single people are usually on the giving end of gift registries, this new platform offers a limited-time Singles Registry, where people can sign up to receive gifts and send them to the special singles in their lives.

Anyone can visit VisibleSinglesRegistry.com and build their own wish list from a curated selection of items with single people in mind. Registry users who opt in will also be entered to win a gift card to Airbnb to help users take a "single moon" to the destination of their choice. The registry will be live from April 4 through April 30.

Visible is the only wireless carrier to offer unmatched savings to single-line users (as low as $25 per month for unlimited data, with no family plan needed). Plus, as part of this campaign, Visible is donating $10,000 to Girls Who Code, an international nonprofit working to close the gender gap in technology.

Proudly representing Verizon

We want to give a shout-out to V Teamer Rakesh Patel, a manager on the tech product management team. He went on vacation to Chichen Itza, Mexico, and snapped a creative picture while wearing his Ultra T-shirt!

We love seeing V Teamers around the world represent our company proudly, so if you find yourself on vacation sporting some Verizon gear, take a picture and share it with us via email at good@verizon.com!

Enjoy your weekend!
