Leadership Update
This morning it was announced that Manon Brouillette, who has served as the CEO of Verizon Consumer Group since January, has stepped down from the role. Our CEO Hans Vestberg announced in a letter that he will take direct responsibility for running Verizon Consumer Group.

5G Ultra Wideband now available to more than 175 million people
Verizon is now covering more than 175 million people with our ultra fast, ultra reliable 5G Ultra Wideband service and will offer nationwide 5G Ultra Wideband in the first quarter of 2023. The ongoing C-Band rollout is a full 13 months ahead of the original schedule, and continues to accelerate.
This means more people will experience the power of 5G Ultra Wideband right from their phones and can download huge documents, seamlessly stream movies in HD audio and video, play console quality games and connect with video chats with clearer sound and video.
Seramount DEI Awards
Verizon continues to be a leader in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. So much so that we are being recognized again by top media companies such as Seramount who rank us high in several DEI categories highlighting just how much Verizon is a great place to work.
Seramount launched in 1979 and they are a driving force for DEI, helping companies build strategies and solutions that help make a significant impact in creating inclusive workplaces.
For the sixth year, 75 organizations participated in their Inclusion Index which reveal opportunities for companies to target DEI efforts and recognize trends to drive internal change.
Verizon was among a group of 17 companies recognized for superior achievement as a Pinnacle Inclusion Index Company for achieving an 80% or higher score. These three key categories were evaluated:
- Recruitment best practices, retention and the advancement of people from underrepresented groups.
- Inclusive culture, including leadership accountability.
- Demographic diversity for women and racial/ethnic minorities.
For the 17th consecutive year, we’ve earned top honors as a Best Company for Multicultural Women because of our best practices and progress in creating a culture that encourages women to grow their careers.
And for the 15th time, we we’re honored to be named in the top 75 companies for Executive Women for being a company that champions the advancement of women, with a focus on succession planning, profit-and-loss roles, gender pay parity, support programs and flexibility programs.

In-store activation
Last week on Up To Speed, we mentioned our one-of-a-kind holiday experience happening right in our stores across the country – where local artists are personalizing accessories with their designs.
The experience kicked off this weekend in Baltimore, Boston, Milwaukee, Madison, San Diego and South Bend. We shared a video highlighting how delighted our customers were with this experience that gave them the opportunity to walk out of stores not just with new accessories, but ones that truly felt like a beautiful work of art.
