Hans’ opening remarks
“I don’t have words to thank all the V Teamers for all that they accomplished in 2020,” said Hans. “It was one of the most complicated and challenging years in my entire career. I want to thank you all for the fantastic work that you have done.”
Hans highlighted the performance of the Business, Consumer, Network and Verizon Media groups. He also stressed the importance of keeping the safety and health of our employees as priority number one in 2021.
Hans also shared our most recent accolades, which included recent RootMetrics’ win. Kyle Malady explained the difference between types of tests conducted by the different ratings organizations, including drive tests vs perception vs. crowd-sourced.
Matt Ellis shared good news on the financial front, including expected revenue growth in 2021.
5G Panel
Andy introduced a panel of V Teamers to discuss some 5G use cases:
Jake Sally, Manager of Media Development based in Denver, CO, shared how Verizon Media’s immersive augmented reality (AR) platform has been perfected in the past year and can now be enjoyed with your smartphone and a wireless connection. 5G will only make these experiences better with higher fidelity and interactivity.

Kate Jay, Corporate Communications Manager in Alpharetta, GA, discussed 5G Home making an impact at a time when so many adults and kids are working and learning remotely, making connectivity more important than ever.
Roberto DeJesus, Manager in Corporate Social Responsibility in Basking Ridge, NJ, talked about our Verizon Integrated Learning (VIL) schools program and examples of the five applications we currently offer, including Mappers Delight, an AR-enabled globe that connects geography to rap music.
Credo Award winners
Guru Gowrappan introduced Program Manager Lauren Johnson and Sales Operations Senior Manager Azuka Anunkor who accepted a Credo Award on behalf of the 10,000 members of the Verizon Media team. The group delivered the first quarter of double-digit year-over-year growth since the Yahoo acquisition in 2017.
Tami Erwin introduced Joe Terrazas, Managing Partner of Global Solutions from Colorado Springs, CO, who led efforts on our Walgreens Boots Alliance, the biggest network enterprise service win for us this year. Joe accepted on behalf of his entire team. Tami explained that Joe truly lived the Credo by helping lead the team to dream big, proving we could win with the assets we have.
