Sueños Music Festival
Did you know that in the United States people are listening to Reggaeton at higher rates than both country music and electronic dance music?
That gives you a sense of the enormous impact of the popular up-beat genre, and this year, Verizon was a sponsor for the first-ever Sueños Music Festival in Chicago’s Grant Park. The two-day festival welcomed 70,000 attendees each day and featured some of the hottest Reggeaton artists.
Verizon hosted an incredible experience featuring a premium viewing deck with extraordinary views of the main stage, lounge seating, charging stations, photo ops and more.
¡Que Viva el Mariachi!
Verizon will once again serve as the presenting sponsor of the 33rd Annual Mariachi USA festival. The event will feature renowned mariachi groups and guest performers showcasing aspects of Mexican heritage.
The premier Mariachi music festival will take place on June 18th at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
A concert you won’t want to miss
And speaking of experiences, here’s another one. We partnered with Pandora and Colombian, multi-platinum artist Sebastián Yatra who you might know from his Oscar nominated song “Dos Oruguitas” from the popular Disney animated movie, Encanto.
Tonight at 8pm EST/5pm PST – Sebastian will perform an innovative virtual concert on Pandora powered by Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband and mobile edge computing platform. Produced in Verizon’s 5GLab in LA, fans will be able to experience his music in an augmented universe.
Attendees will also be able to engage in a live chat and see a special behind-the-scenes segment giving an inside look into how Verizon 5G technology powered this first-of-its-kind event.

A first-generation V Team graduate
We shared the inspiring story of V Teamer and first-generation graduate Adan Salinas.
Adan, who’s been with Verizon for a little over 11 years, started his career as a Customer Support Representative in Albuquerque, NM, and is now a Senior Team Lead for Express in Austin, TX.
Last month, at 37-years-old, Adan became the first person in his family to graduate from college with the help of Verizon’s Tuition Assistance program. “Graduation means the world to me,” Adain said. “It’s something no one can take away from me.”
He shared the following advice for other V Teamers who are considering pursuing their degrees: “You can do this. You have the power. Don’t discredit your abilities. You can do it.”
