On today’s Up To Speed, Diana shared the following updates.

Hispanic Heritage month

Today is the last day of National Hispanic Heritage Month. CMO Diego Scotti shared a video message talking about how great it is to see all of the incredible things we have accomplished as a Latinx community and how excited he is for our shared future.

Breaking the internet

One of the things that we miss most is live music. Leave it to the V Team to partner with Univision to produce one of the most epic concerts ever with the world’s biggest pop star, Puerto Rico’s own Bad Bunny. Let’s revisit some of those stats:

  • More than 10 million viewers, enough to crash Youtube for 18 seconds
  • 1.2 million mentions of Bad Bunny on Twitter
  • 90% of our social media share was positive
  • We did some good too, ending his show in front of Harlem Hospital, where we partnered with a small business to provide 250 meals.

That was just the tip of the iceberg. Take a look at some other highlights from the month:

All this engagement and success is because Verizon knows representation is crucial. Our leader focused on recruiting and promoting a diverse workforce. Magda Yrizarry, our Chief Diversity Officer, discussed her mission to make Verizon an inclusive environment.

Let’s catch up with Ivan Berg

One organization working to give our Latinx employees a sense of belonging is our Employee Resource Group SOMOS. Diana had the opportunity to speak with Ivan Berg, Vice President of Client Services and a global co-leader of SOMOS.

Mi Historia: Jessica Ricaurte

For our final installment of Mi Historia, we introduced Latinx V Teamer Jessica Ricaurte of the Verizon Media Group. Jessica came to New York with big dreams and, after an incredible life journey and a lot of perseverance, she is now a working mom and a leader we can all look up to.

BOLD Homecoming Week

We also want to mention that BOLD’s Homecoming Week kicks off this Monday, featuring everything from HBCU mixers to the State of the Yard.
