On today’s Up To Speed, Andy shared updates on some of the exciting things happening with the Verizon Business Group.

Private 5G MEC

Verizon is teaming up with Microsoft Corp. to create new ways for enterprises to accelerate the delivery of fast and secure 5G applications, benefiting from reliable and low latency connections. Verizon’s on-site 5G Edge network integrated with Azure edge services can enable ultra-low latency, many times faster than the blink of an eye, which can help businesses tap into real-time data analysis and delivery. Taking Private 5G Global

Verizon Business today announced the launch of its international Private 5G platform for global enterprises located in Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Delivered in partnership with Nokia, the offering will enable businesses to deploy a private dedicated 5G network within their premises. In addition to ultra-low latency and high speed, a key benefit of a private 5G network is the ability for businesses, particularly those with manufacturing, distribution and logistics facilities, to deploy a customized on-site mobile network, eliminating the need to transmit data through public networks. Tami Erwin honored

Let’s raise our virtual glasses and toast our own Tami Erwin who was named by Fortune magazine as one of the most powerful women in business. Since 1998, Fortune has ranked the Most Powerful Women in Business using four criteria: the size and importance of each woman’s business in the global economy; the health and direction of the business; the arc of her career; and her social and cultural influence.

In 2020, Fortune added a new dimension: how is the executive wielding her power in this moment of crisis and uncertainty and is she using her influence to shape her company and the wider world for the better? We all know the answer. Tami, congratulations, and thanks for all that you do to move the world forward.
