The latest on our response to Hurricane Ian.

Throughout the week we’ve updated you on our response to Hurricane Ian. Our latest updates include mobilizing our network & Frontline teams across Florida utilizing an assortment of solutions to help serve first responders and communities across the state. We even deployed one of our latest solutions THOR in the field to help the people of Fort Myers Beach.

Chief Network Officer Joe Russo who was recently down in Florida visiting our teams on the ground joined us live to tell us more about our network response.

Joe emphasized the hard work of our technicians assuring that we continue to work hard to keep customers connected. Joe also mentioned our focus on increasing data capacity in impacted areas as more customers rely on data usage because many cable sites are still down.

We heard from Kelley during her visit to Florida about the importance of giving back to our V Teamers impacted by the storm with our Employee Relief Fund, V to V.

100% of all donations are going to our fellow co-workers who need it most.

Verizon Business News

  • Our Verizon Business Channel team made a splash at the TD Synnex conference in Greenville, South Carolina.

Verizon kicked off TD Synnex with a keynote from Mark Tina, Vice President of Sales for SMB Sales, where he spoke to our Channel partners about Verizon’s 5G network and how it’s delivering value in new ways for customers.

Verizon took part in several panel discussions, displaying our Mobility Co-Sell Program, fixed wireless access (also known as Business Internet), and our 5G capabilities.

The contract, worth $1.58 billion over the next 10 years, includes implementation and management of network solutions for State Department facilities in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and South America.

It’s been quite a year for Verizon Public Sector, with EIS deals announced totaling close to $3 billion.

Verizon Connect ranked highest in six key innovation categories including: preventive maintenance, prognostics and analytics; vehicle/driver/cargo monitoring; open platforms; features; tech development and user interface and user experience.

The ABI Research ranking of telematics providers enables customers looking for a fleet management solution to quickly identify key characteristics and unique selling points of commercial telematics vendors and understand which providers have the scale and partner network to support fleets globally.

The launch of the Verizon Connect AI Dashcam, which utilizes advanced AI to enable real-time detection of potentially dangerous driving events and to boost driver safety, is a great example of how Verizon Connect is constantly innovating, and helping our customers future-proof their businesses.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month – it’s an important time to reflect on how we can protect ourselves online as threats to technology and confidential data become more and more common.

Host Jennifer Marin recently talked to Verizon’s Chief Information Security Officer, Nasrin Rezai, about the importance of this month and how we can all stay safe.

Nasrin discussed what cybersecurity looks like here at Verizon which serves the goal of protecting Verizon and Verizon customers from potential harm, attacks or reputational damage.

“Cybersecurity is all of our responsibility,” says Nasrin. You can protect yourself by not providing your credentials, staying alert, and learning more about cybersecurity with the Cyber Health courses in the Learning Portal 2.0.

If you believe there has been an information security incident, such as lost or stolen devices, malware/virus infection or unauthorized password resets, email CIRT@verizon.com immediately.

Our Customer Service V Teamers are Unstoppable Together

We started the week celebrating Customer Service week and today we’re ending on it.

We want to thank our Customer Service V Teamers who embody the line in our credo, “We focus outward on the customer not inward” each and every single day.

For the past few months they have been reconnecting around the country during the Unstoppable Together tour with Consumer Customer Service Vice President, Tanya Johnson.

During the tour Tanya set the priorities for the fourth quarter, centered conversation on our Credo, recognized rock star V Teamers who go above and beyond for our customers and our company and answered questions.

If you have any questions, email them to live@verizon.com.
