On today’s Up To Speed Live, Diana shared the following updates:

Remembering those we lost on 9/11

On this date 19 years ago, our nation was forever changed. Today, as V Teamers, we continue to honor the thousands of lives that were lost that day, including three of our own: Donna Bowen (Pentagon), Derrick Washington (World Trade Center) and Leonard White (World Trade Center). Our hearts go out to their loved ones, including their family, friends and colleagues on the V Team.

A special My Why

Today’s My Why features Nigel Leu-wai-see who shares his journey at Verizon, including his recent opportunity to ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange, and his own memories of 9/11. Nigel was one of hundreds of V Teamers who worked around the clock to get hospitals and other businesses in lower Manhattan back up and running. Thank you, Nigel, for all that you continue to do!

Relief for Oregonians impacted by wildfires

Our hearts go out to all of those affected by the wildfires raging in so many Western states. Oregon has had a particularly rough week. For our consumer and small business customers directly impacted in that area, beginning thursday, September 10 through Wednesday, September 16, Verizon is providing unlimited calling, texting and data. You can find more details here.

Yahoo Sports PlayAR

Yesterday, Guru told us about a new Yahoo Sports app feature called Watch Together, which enables NFL fans to video chat on their phones with friends while watching live local and primetime games. Also on the app, we’re launching a new feature called PlayAR, which gives 3D replays in real time, including 360 degree views for some plays, and player and ball tracking information on screen. Be sure to download the app and try these out on Sunday.

Coming Monday...
