Look who’s back! On today’s Up To Speed Live, Andy welcomed Christy and his former Adfellow/co-host-turned-full-time-V Teamer Raquel Wilson. The trio shared the following updates.
Network update on Hurricane Sally
Jeff Plowman, Director of Network Assurance on the Network team, gave us an update on our response to Hurricane Sally. “Yesterday, we spent the day making sure our employees were safe and dealt with our infrastructure providers so we could hit the ground this morning. Today, we’re working hard to help our customers and first responders. Good progress has been made already.” As always, our thanks to our Verizon response teams.
COVID-19 update
Christy shared her pride and thanks in all the work in handling the challenges of the past few months. We’re continuing to operate in our new normal through the end of the year with our current safety protocols in effect Our Return To Office tool continues to be used by tens of thousands of V Teamers around the globe. However, COVID-19 is still part of our reality for the foreseeable future, so it’s critical we all remain vigilant. If you don’t feel well, don’t go to the office.
Time off to vote
Raquel shared some great clips from previous #Next20 discussions in which guests spoke of the importance of voting and how fortunate we are that we each get that opportunity. Learn about how you can register to vote here.
To encourage each of us to make our voices heard, Christy shared the announcement that due to the challenges posed by COVID-19, U.S.-based employees who are scheduled to work on Election Day (November 3, 2020) will receive up to four hours paid time off to vote and/or participate in civic activities in support of voting. Over the next few weeks, you’ll hear from your group leaders on how your team will handle this operationally.
