New 5G documentary: Speed of Thought
'Speed of Thought,' a new documentary about the first wave of 5G visionaries, is now available to employees on the Inside Verizon app under the Webcasts tab. Download the app on your work or personal device from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. After a one-time device registration, you will have a one-step login process using face or fingerprint ID or your password. Verizon Media team can view the documentary here.
Watch the film, give it a like if you feel so inclined, and share your thoughts in the Good mailbox. Then, on September 15, Katie will be moderating a conversation about the documentary with Andrew McKechnie, executive producer of the documentary and Chief Creative Officer, Sanyogita Shamsunder, Technology Development & Planning leader, Glenn Cantave, Founder & CEO of Movers & Shakers, and Desmond Jackbir, Director of Network Field Engineering.
RootMetrics results
Earlier today RootMetrics released the results of their State of the Mobile Union Report covering the first half of 2020. Though focused on 4G, this is the first RootMetrics report that also incorporates 5G into the findings.
For the 14th straight time, Verizon won United States RootScore Awards outright in the categories of overall performance, network reliability, data performance and call performance. We also won or tied six out of seven awards, and won or shared 41 Speed RootScore Awards out of 55 metros, the most of any carrier this half.
Better than Obi: SD WAN
Here’s another win: IDC, the premier global provider of market intelligence, named Verizon the leader in Managed SD-WAN Services Worldwide for enterprise customers in a recent report. SD-WAN is software-defined networking for a wide-area network. It’s how companies can create secure networks whether they’re using the Internet, wireless or private network — with the freedom and flexibility to manage and secure their network with software — super important for remote working!
