This is not a good replacement for the previous rugged phone I had I don't think it will survive being dropped or being in my pocket on a 100 degree day getting soaked in sweat I don't think it should be listed as rugged

Although it is not as rugged as our DuraForce line of phones, DuraSport 5G is designed and tested to withstand drops of up to 5 ft onto concrete and is IP68 rated waterproof at 6.5 ft for up to 30 minutes. It was also tested to MIL-STD 810H. So, you may be pleasantly surprised with its durability. Kyocera

Up to 5 ft on concrete. Compliant with a military standards test (MIL-STD-810H Method 516.6, Procedure IV "Transit Drop"). Device may not perform as tested in all conditions. Test performed in controlled environment. Do not attempt.
IP68 waterproof at 6.5 ft for up to 30 minutes. Before immersing your phone in water, make sure all ports and covers are properly sealed. Avoid using your phone in salt water. Always rinse your phone in fresh water after it has been submerged.
Use mild soap, disinfectant wipes, or alcohol (70%)

Update killed this phone

I have had this phone for a little over a year, it was never a great phone just ok. In March a software update was released and since then it randomly switches apps, the keyboard disappears while typing, it gives random notifications with nothing there. I contacted Kyocera and they acknowledged a problem with the update and sent a replacement phone. However the replacement does not support an app that I need to monitor a medical device. The only positive thing about this phone is that it is durable, but so is a block of wood. Given the choice I'd take the block of wood. Save yourself time and aggravation and buy something else.

I am never one to leave reviews but this is absolutely the worst phone I have EVER had. Seriously total pile junk. The UI is buggy and slow as all get out. The camera app just decideds when it will and won't work depending on the alignment of the planets. Not to mention the camera app takes FOREVER to open and it crashes other apps, Strava in particular. The glass over the camera broke within a month. Fell out of my pocket from sitting in a chair... The worst of all you cant make a call 75% of the time. You have to put it in airplane mode first then sometimes it will call, most times it takes another airplane mode cycle. The wifi connection is atrocious. It literally sits and connects and disconnects continuously. I normally buy sub $400 phones but went out on a limb in hopes of something more durable... What a mistake I made. Will never own another Kyocera. And will never buy another phone directly from Verizon again.
