Indoor, Outdoor, Pan and Tilt Camera Troubleshooting Tips

Available for use both indoors and out, cameras can be set to monitor and record what is happening inside and outside your home. Pan tilt cameras offer additional visability, as you can remotely pan your area.

I can't connect my camera to the Internet
  1. Make sure the Ethernet cable is connected from the camera’s LAN port to your Internet Router’s LAN port. Afterwards if connection is successful, you can change the camera to wireless (WiFi) operation.
  2. Make sure your camera is plugged into a power outlet and that the power light is green.
  3. Verify the Internet Router is working: unplug the router rom the power outlet, wait for 10 seconds and then plug it back in. 
  4. Make sure your camera is 50 to 75 feet from the Internet Router. You may have to move one or both devices to get them within communications range.

 

Test your Camera: The camera is successfully connected to the Internet if its light is solid green and appears as an "active" device on the Home Monitoring and Control Web site on My Verizon. 

My camera's video quality is poor

The quality of your camera video can be impacted if you have 5 or more cameras in your Home Monitoring and Control service and a slower broadband speed.

To handle multiple cameras effectively, it is recommended that you have a minimum broadband speed of 240 Kbps upload/download for optimal viewing experience.

 

Video quality also depends on the amount of available lighting in the camera viewing area.
