Removing Another Carrier's Charges Changing your selected long distance carriers without your authorization is known as "slamming."
If you think that you have been slammed, contact Verizon and tell the customer service agent that your local, regional toll or long distance carrier was changed without your permission. The customer service agent will take the appropriate action to switch you back to your preferred carrier and advise you of your legal remedies.
