On today’s special Wednesday episode of Up To Speed Live, Andy was joined by Hans and Christy, who shared the following updates.

Joint event with Apple

Hans explained that, as we near the end of 2020, we are not slowing down and continue to advance the business in big ways. That includes a first-ever virtual event this Thursday at 1 PM ET/10 AM PT that we will host with Apple for our enterprise customers. The event will showcase the iPhone 12 lineup and how Verizon’s 5G will transform industries like manufacturing, field service and healthcare. Find out all the details about the event here.

Snap Lens partnership

On the consumer side, we’ve partnered with Snap to launch the 5G Landmarker Lens, an AR experience exclusive for 5G Ultra Wideband customers.

Holiday Gift Guide

To help our customers get into the holiday spirit, we just released a Holiday Gift Guide with the top tech and gadgets.

Verizon Innovative Learning

We continue to operate with social responsibility at our core and made a huge announcement today with the launch of Verizon Innovative Learning’s Teacher Training Pathways to help educators master digital-first instruction. Any teacher can take advantage of this program, so make sure to spread the word.

COVID-19 update

Hans reminded us that cases are rising worldwide and that nothing is more important than the health of our V teamers. Andy shared that two weeks ago, he felt sick, tested positive for COVID-19 and continues to isolate himself as recovers.

Thank you, Andy, for sharing your story.

Remain vigilant

Christy urged us to please remain vigilant as we head into the holidays and continue to follow the procedures in place to keep our employees safe. Our Emergency Operations Center continues to meet regularly and review evolving public health guidelines, as well as executive orders and government mandates. Many of our procedures go above and beyond recommendations, including:

  • Scaling our Return to Office tool
  • Touchless Retail protocols
  • Social distancing and face coverings whenever in the field, office or in stores.
  • If diagnosed with COVID-19, we have a case care team standing by to help employees with resources and personalized support.

With the holidays approaching, families will be separated from their loved ones and rely even more on the ability to connect and communicate. Whether it’s Thanksgiving dinner over video or FaceTiming grandparents during family dinner, our customers are counting on us to help them hold tight to joy, even if it looks different this year.

Some important reminders as we move forward together:

  • If you are not feeling well, please remain home.
  • If you experience any symptoms of COVID-19 or have been potentially exposed, contact your healthcare provider and notify your manager so we can make sure you have the support you need.
  • While it’s tempting to pause what’s going on in the world, nothing is more important than your health and well-being.

As a reminder, please visit the coronavirus resource page for more details.

Native American Heritage month

November is national Native American Heritage month. Be sure to order your new NAV shirt here. A $5 donation will be made to Native Services - The Boys & Girls Club with each purchase.

As part of our awareness campaign for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls, we invite all V Teamers to come together, starting November 1 through November 30, for a virtual walk to honor and to bring awareness of those missing and murdered Indigenous women. For every Verizon employee who signs up and takes part in this event, Native Americans of Verizon will make a $5 donation on their behalf to StrongHearts Native Helpline.
