Happy Monday. For those who were celebrating, we hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend. On today’s Up To Speed Live, host Diana Alvear shared the following updates.

Fresh off of Black Friday and Small Business Saturday, check out all of our great Cyber Monday exclusive digital deals for today only, including $200 off select Android phones with any Unlimited plan.

Iron Bowl mention
If you were checking out some of the biggest college football games this past weekend, you probably saw that Verizon served as the official wireless partner for this past weekend’s Iron Bowl. Auburn is the first U.S. university to get Verizon 5G in the stadium. Verizon has been proud partners with Auburn for many years and that relationship will continue as we transform the student and fan experience. On Saturday, Mark Tina, VP of Sales for the Eastern region of the U.S. for Verizon Business Markets, received recognition on behalf of Verizon and accepted a ball on the field prior to the game.
Thanking our Verizon Response Team
Tomorrow is the last official day of hurricane season and what a season it’s been. It all began with Tropical Storm Ana which formed ten days before the season even started and ended (knock on wood) with Tropical Storm Wanda.
Our team prepares all year long for disaster and we stepped up this season to handle four major storms. One of those was Hurricane Ida, which slammed the Louisiana coast as a Category 4 and caused more damage in that location than any other storm in history except Katrina. Verizon was on the ground in Ida’s wake to assist with recovery, bringing in assets, loaning out devices and setting up charging stations for people in the hardest hit areas. The Verizon Response Team supported 6 states and 67 government agencies and provided calling, text and data relief to thousands of customers to help with their recovery.
Helping V Teamers in their time of need
So far in 2021, Verizon’s VtoV Employee Disaster Relief Fund has given out $420,000 to assist victims of disaster and domestic violence. That’s incredibly generous, and we thank everyone who contributed. We also want to remind you that tomorrow is Giving Tuesday and the VtoV fund is a great way to honor the spirit of the occasion.
Welcome to the fam!
Last but certainly not least, you may have heard the exciting news: TracFone, Wireless, Inc. is now officially part of our Verizon family! Tomorrow, we’ll meet our new V Teamers and share much more on how this addition will help us in our mission to connect even more communities and families. Be sure to tune in for all the details.
