Double Check

We’re always working hard to better serve our customers. Double Check is a new extra layer of security which asks our customers to agree with certain changes to their account before they are implemented. One final check. A lot less worry. Thanks to Sariena Alvarez, a Solutions Specialist at one of our Atlanta area stores, who is featured in the ad.

Raquel caught up with Sariena recently to talk about what it was like to shoot the commercial. “I was nervous but I also felt like a star,” reported Sariena. “From wardrobe to lunch to going on set, the experience was amazing.”

New devices

The previously announced Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW is available for purchase beginning today. Earlier this week, George showed us the revolutionary LG Wing with its swivelling second screen that offers all kinds of ways to increase productivity and multi-task, including a built-in Gimbal Mode feature that helps you film dramatic pans and steady video.

BlueJeans and telehealth

Several healthcare organizations will now be using BlueJeans video conferencing for telehealth services, patient-to-family communication, internal collaboration, education and patient advisory boards. They’re able to help improve patient outcomes by providing care remotely in a manner that helps support adherence to HIPAA or similar patient privacy requirements.

As we continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, let’s meet another outstanding Latina V Teamer. America Baez is a Talent Acquisition Manager from Chicago who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After months of tests and treatment, all while completing her MBA, her cancer has thankfully gone into remission. Read more about her story.

Spanish language content on Fios

Fios customers now have more options when it comes to Spanish-language programming, with over 400 hours of video on-demand content from leading Spanish-language networks, including: RCN Nuestra Tele, Antena 3, HOLA! TV, Sur Peru, and Canal Sur. The new VOD content will be offered at no additional cost for current Verizon Fios customers that subscribe to a Spanish TV package.

My Why: Linh Beugelsdyk

Today we highlight Verizon Consumer Group’s Linh Beugelsdyk, a marketing manager who has been with Verizon for 23 years. In beautiful Honolulu, HI, she volunteers to help with local neighborhood and beach clean ups. Thanks, Linh for sharing your story and for driving all over your beautiful state!

Hans meets with mayors

Yesterday, Hans kicked off the first in a five-part series of national roundtable discussions with the United States Conference of Mayors and industry leaders. He was joined by the mayors of Los Angeles, Houston, and Phoenix and CEOs of Carrier and LiveNation to talk about economic recovery. The next event on dismantling racism will stream live on our Verizon LinkedIn page next Wednesday at 2 PM ET/11 AM PT.

Women in Business talk sports

Verizon Business Group CEO Tami Erwin hosted a discussion with women who hold leadership positions with the NFL, NHL and National Women’s Soccer League as part of the Women in Business series. Topics included how they have pivoted their leagues in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and social justice issues, and how their own careers and leadership styles have evolved through the years.

CNBC highlighted a recent Verizon Business survey about what’s on the minds of small business owners. The owners report that they continue to face significant obstacles and more than half are concerned about surviving financially.
