Very slow locations update, poor reception

1 out of 5 rating

Simon65 · 1 days ago

We are using it over a year now, for 89 years old lady, who occasionally faint and fall during her everyday walks around the town while we are at work. This watch seems what we need, but very poor hardware performance. It is very slow to update location of the wearer. Sometimes it takes 5 minutes or just stop search. Often it cannot find/connect to cell towers. We live 6 miles from Manhattan, in very densely populated area of New Jersey. But Verizon coverage shows reception only 1- 2 bars on Samsung S10E phone in our town. This Care Smart watch losing connection every 500 ft. Charging cable too rigid, hard to make it stay in this watch power socket. Magnetic orientation assist is great.

No Vibrate Mode !?!

1 out of 5 rating

Brian · 4 days ago

A watch designed for seniors, who often have difficulty hearing, that doesn't have a vibrate mode makes absolutely no sense. I returned it.

1. Only one designated emergency contact can be called, which must be created during setup.
2. Data usage applies for app download and use.
3. Numbers must be registered through the Care Smart App. Care Smart watch permits up to nine contacts in addition to the primary registered caregiver.
4. Dependent on carrier coverage. Device must be turned on. Consent to location tracking is required during pairing; the watch will receive notifications about location tracking 24 hours after pairing is complete, and at 30-day intervals thereafter. These notifications let wearers know that their location is being shared with their Trusted Contacts. Verizon makes no representations or warranties about the availability or accuracy of the GPS or about the accuracy or completeness of any map data or other information.

A great alternative for elderly and children!

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

If you are looking for a smart watch, this isn't the one for you. This watch does exactly what it is designed to do, help family members of elderly stay connected. If someone purchased this and didn't like it, they didn't ask enough questions or didn't read what it is designed for before purchasing it. There are 2 things I would change about this watch and that would be to give it capability to call 911, and make the care now app texting features more user friendly. Designed for ease of use for elderly, this accomplishes most tasks. 10 numbers can be saved in for in and outbound calling. All account managers can download the app and send text to the watch through the care now app. The person wearing the watch can choose from a list of preset messages to reply through the care now app. No data or internet issues to worry about.

This watch does not notify you when you have a text message. It stays silent. You constantly get a red dot on the ap but int only means Fahd you had a message or interaction but it’s constantly on even though you never got a new message. As of the second day of use I cannot massage both of my kids because the field where you are supposed to text does not show up. Absolute junk. Why did I switch from AT&T.

I’ve had the watch since 8/2021

I bought this for my 11 year old so that she doesn’t have Internet access and video/ picture features. I was sold on the GPS & the option to manage when she can receive calls & whom. The phone doesn’t work well because GPS isn’t accurate, it randomly calls the last person in the middle of the night (I’ve seen it do it on my nightstand) and there’s delays with messaging. They need to work on improving this watch because I wasted $150

Terrible Experience

1 out of 5 rating

AnnoyedMom · 1 months ago

I purchased the Care Smart watch for my 11 year old in August, with the hope that it would be something she could use to contact us if she needed something or to make plans instead of getting her a smart phone and everything that entails. I am an AT&T customer for the rest of our mobile needs, but they did not have a comparable smart watch product.  I have been disappointed with the watch. It rarely works as intended, with dropped calls and delays in transmitting texts. It does do GPS tracking pretty well, but that is not really a feature I care about. Buggy. But the bigger problem is that the account management and customer care has been TERRIBLE since I don't have other Verizon services. I can't receive outside texts on the watch so dual factor authentication doesn't work for me. I can't use my email, inexplicably. I can call in, but it takes me 45+ minutes to get through to an agent. And I'm on Pacific time so I can't do it when I have time to do so after work. I was assured that everything was paid and autopay was set up a couple of months ago, but then I got an email my account was past due? It has been the worst. I just don't have the patience to keep up with this.  I wasted $150 on the watch and hours on customer "care". Please heed my cautionary tale.

Perfect for my 11 year old!

4 out of 5 rating

Charlie22 · 1 months ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

We bought this for my 11 year old a year ago so he has communication while at his sports events, practices, etc. We couldn’t be happier with this product. He can call us anytime, send us any of the preselected text messages, or an audio message if needed. For example, if practice ends early or he needs to be picked up from school it’s an easy push of a text. We can see where he is with the gps and where he’s been. We set reminders on it for waking up for school, when to leave for the bus, homework time, etc. It’s perfect for the simple communication needed without the internet access and sending/receiving pictures. The voice on either end comes through very clear. It’s extremely easy for him to use. The only thing that could be better is the app could be more ergonomic.

Does this watch have a fall alert that will call your emergency contact automatically if you fall and don’t respond?

Verizon Customer Support - 9 months

It does not have the fall alert on the watch. Care Smart makes it easy for seniors to call for help. Simply hold down the arrow button on the front of the watch for 4 seconds and the watch will call the one preset contact. - Kevin
