Parents decide who is a trusted contact and what role (Guardian, Caregiver, Calling contact, Gizmo Buddy) is assigned to each contact. There is no such thing as a Gizmo contact with no permissions, because that is someone you as a parent would not add as a trusted contact anyway.

The Gizmo watch itself needs to be activated with Verizon. The watch can be the only line you have on Verizon. The GizmoHub app which you use to manage, locate and communicate with the Gizmo watch can be downloaded to your iPhone or Android smartphone regardless of carrier, e.g., Verizon, AT&T., or T-Mobile.

Your child can use their Gizmo Watch 3 to have video calls with approved contacts who have been assigned the Guardian or Caregiver role, as long as these contacts have installed the GizmoHub app on their smartphones. Your child can also have video calls with approved contacts who have been assigned the Gizmo Buddy role. Gizmo Buddies are other kids who also have a Gizmo watch.
