We bought our home with a promise from the only major internet provider in our area that we would have service. When installer came he said they wouldn't install as the house was more that XXX feet from the junction box. No other providers service the area. As it's impossible to live life (telemed, banking, etc.) without internet, a hotspot was our only resort. Out of curiosity, we monitored gigs used a few times a day and kept a running report. More often than not, the cumulative number for gigs used was LOWER than the previous number. It would go from 22.63 to 21.84; from 26.91 to 25.79; from 69.37 to 58.20. You can't "un-use" data -- can you? We un-used data at least 11 times according to our monitoring. The number (I believe) is cumulative and should constantly increase. And then the opposite. One night when we went to bed it showed 21.84gb used. At 6:00 the next morning it showed 46.84gb used. All connected devices were off. Not possible to use 25gb under those circumstances. Then, at 8:00 am, it backed down to 25.70. When we used a lot of data, it didn’t reflect that. One day at 2:00 it showed 27.38. At 10:00 it showed 27.37, although we had streamed TV and surfed the net a LOT. In six hours' time, we used no data? Several times a day a message would appear regarding battery, overheating, plugging, unplugging, etc. We were plugging and unplugging several times a day. The plug into the wall was extremely hot, and so was the device. I finally placed it on a metal baking cooling rack to protect the table it was on. Received the device on 9/1/23, and I talked with Verizon Tech Coach often for the next five days. They will ship another today to replace it, but I was told that when they send replacements from the warehouse, there's a 50/50 chance it will be a refurbished device. Not even one week old, and I may get a refurbished device without a discount? Refurbished cell phones are sold at a reduced rate. The concept of a hotspot is good as a work-around for "real" internet, and we are desperate. (Verizon Home Internet is not available at our location or we would go with that.)

Doesn’t work well when other devices in the house are linked on at the same time. We have it for our main tv but my sons tv/ PlayStation is laggy if we are running both at the same time.

Not enough gigs. I explained to the rep what I needed, who used what and this was the recommendation. One week and we tapped out on high speed. Now we are low speed and it works a little. Very little. If we didn’t need it to take care of the entire household it would be an adequate backup. Terrible primary source of Wi-Fi for medium to heavy users. We have one gamer and three tv streamers in the household

It is constantly going down and not working until I reboot it. Very slow network even though I have 4bars showing on system plus and more importantly I was informed unlimited data at 5G on this line and the unit itself says unlimited but I got a message that I’ve used up all data and it’ll get slower. Not happy. If I can find another service provider for area I live in im returning this unit. Bad sales

Works ok. I guess that is only as good as the signal. Did not drop signal at all. It is very large and heavy. At least double the size and weight of my last one, which was not 5G, that is why I upgraded. Also gave me a confusing message. At one point it said that I used 30 GB. Which was absolutely not possible. The next morning it said that I used 9 GB.

I read the reviews before buying this Orbic and saw a few bad reviews but decided to give it a shot…. I should’ve listened. This is an awful, useless product. Can’t even provide a connection when only one device is connected. I would not recommend this product to anyone. It’s made me so frustrated that I’m most likely leaving Verizon all together. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM.
