Thanks for your feedback. Please know that the battery of your JBL Charge 5 may be losing its capacity. In addition, the battery wears out over time. Volume and usage can affect the battery's life. Even if listening at maximum volume to heavy bass music, the battery should last longer than 60% of the published playtime. For further assistance, please contact our customer support or you can file a warranty claim here https://support.jbl.com/us/en/customer-service/warranty-request.html?_gl=1*hkycbp*_gcl_au*MTcyNTU2MjQ5MS4xNzE5ODM5ODUz*_ga*MTY4ODI2NTUyNC4xNzE5ODQ4NzA1*_ga_Y0LVZT4P2X*MTcxOTg0NTYzNC4yLjEuMTcxOTg0ODcwNy4wLjAuOTkzMTY1NjM2jbl.com Originally posted on jbl.com

Hello! May I ask that Will the speaker get damaged if I continue to play it at 100% volume? Because I usually use it while I am practicing the drum, so I need my JBL Charge 5 plays at 100% volume with EQ settings to mid and high maximum. Thank you.
Thanks for your inquiry. Setting the volume and the EQ to its maximum level may pose a risk to your JBL Charge 5, particularly when playing audio that is already bass-boosted. This can lead to distortion or rattling, potentially damaging the speaker's driver. Similarly, playing louder songs with the bass set to maximum may also pose a risk. Alternatively, you can still adjust the bass in the EQ and experiment with playing loud or bass-boosted songs. However, it's important to monitor for any signs of distortion or rattling. If you encounter these issues, adjust the settings until the sound is clean and meets your expectations for a satisfying listening experience.

authentic vs counterfeit charge 5 and is theer difference between GG, TL, CS versions?
Thanks for your inquiry. Our GG, TL, and CS models come from different production centers i.e. different suppliers to fulfill the production capacity but the product specification should be the same. Products from different suppliers are just having different execution in the design but the quality should be identical. To know if your product is authentic or counterfeit, you may reach out to us, so we can check it for you.

Love the speaker and app. I have worn out my charge 3 and now happily own a 5. My only complaint is why does the app not allow you to turn the speaker on remotely?
We hear you. To control our JBL Charge 5 it must be connected first to the device and the JBL Portable App. It can be turned off by the app but you'll have to turn it on manually. As of right now, that is not a feature but we appreciate your feedback and will forward this along to the appropriate teams. If you need more help with the unit, please contact our customer support.

How many speakers can you connect by wifi from one computer?
The JBL Charge 5 uses Bluetooth to connect with devices. For how many Bluetooth connections your computer supports, you'd need to consult with the PC's manufacturer. -John
