Turn off 'Find my iPhone' on your old phone before getting started.
Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Welcome to your iPhone 6s / iPhone 6s Plus / iPhone 7 / iPhone 7 Plus / iPhone 8 / iPhone 8 Plus. To turn it on, hold the right side button until the Apple logo appears and then release.
Step 3 Hello
From the "Welcome" screen, slide up from the bottom of the screen to begin setup.
Step 4 Language and Region
Choose your language and your location (country or region).
Step 5 Quickstart
If your old iPhone is running iOS 11, bring your old phone near your new one and you will be signed in automatically.
Not sure of the OS version? No problem. Just tap Set Up Manually to continue.
Step 6 Connect to Wi-Fi
Tap the Wi-Fi network you want. Enter the network password and select Join.

If prompted, enter your Verizon PIN. If activation doesn't work the first time, press Try Again. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.
Step 8 Data & Privacy
Apple only collects this information when needed to enable features, secure our services, or personalize your experience. Tap Continue.
Step 9 Set up Touch ID
With this feature, you can use your fingerprint to unlock your phone and make purchases. Tap Continue and follow the instructions, or tap Set Up Later.
Step 10 Create a passcode
Set a six-digit passcode to help protect your data. You need a passcode to use features like Touch ID, Face ID, and Apple Pay. If you'd like a four-digit passcode, custom passcode, or no passcode, tap Passcode Options.
Step 11 Restore Your Phone
Select your backup option. Did not complete a backup or want to transfer content later? Select Set Up as New iPhone.

Step 12 Sign in to your Apple account
Enter your Apple ID and password. This account is used to download new apps to be used on your phone and access any other features like iCloud.
Unsure what your Apple ID is or need to create one? Follow the links on your screen.
Step 13 Review Apple's Terms and Conditions
When you enter your Apple ID, you are shown the terms and conditions for review. Go through them and, when ready, tap Agree.
Step 14 Express Settings
To set up your phone with the recommended settings, tap Continue. If you want to customize any of those choices, tap Customize Settings.
Step 15 Keep your iPhone Up to Date
To get the latest features, security, and improvements by updating iOS automatically, tap Continue. If not, tap Install Updates Manually.
Step 16 Siri
This lets you use your voice to complete various actions on your device and easily search the web. Tap Continue to set up now or you can set it up later. If you want to set up now, you will be asked to say a few phrases to help with voice recognition.
Step 17 Screen Time
To receive weekly reports about your screen time and set time limits for apps you want to manage, tap Continue or Set Up Later in "Settings".
Step 18 App Analytics
Tap About App Analytics & Privacy to learn more. If you want to enroll, tap Share with App Developers and if not, tap Don’t Share.
Step 19 Meet the New Home Button (iPhone 7 and 8)
Here you can customize your click sensitivity. Tap Get Started to choose from three click options. You can also customize this later in your phone settings.
Step 20 Display Zoom
Choose the size of objects on your iPhone's display. Tap Choose a View, then select Standard for traditional sized icons, or Zoomed for larger icons.
Step 21 Welcome to iPhone
You're done! Press the Home button to begin using your new phone.
