These activation instructions are for both new and upgrading customers who have purchased a new or 4G LTE or 5G Ultra Wideband smartphone from Verizon.

Activation steps for new customers

    Step 1: Back up contacts and content from your old phone

    Visit our Content Transfer Center for help transferring your photos, contacts, apps and more.

    Step 2: Activate and set up your new smartphone

    Turn on your new phone and follow the onscreen instructions.

    The status bar on your phone will let you know when you’re sending or using data on our 4G LTE or 5G Ultra Wideband (5G UWB) network.

Activation steps for upgrading customers

    5G Ultra Wideband smartphone customers:

    Be sure to use the SIM provided or pre-installed in your device. Using a previous SIM may result in your phone not properly activating.
