Enabling a SIM PIN extra security to your Apple® iPhone®, helping to prevent unauthorized use and protect your personal info if your device is misplaced or stolen.

Before you begin

This option isn't available if activated using an eSIM.
Enabling the SIM PIN locks the SIM card on your iPhone, so it can't be used until the correct code is entered.
If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, refer to the following to get a new PIN Unblocking Key (PUK):

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Cellular
    .
  3. If multiple cellular plans are active, under the 'SIMs' or "Cellular Plans' section tap the applicable line.
  4. Tap
    SIM PIN
    .
  5. Tap the
    SIM PIN switch
     to turn on or off.
  6. Enter the SIM PIN then tap the
    Checkmark icon
    .
    The default SIM PIN is 1111.
  7. To change your SIM PIN, ensure the Lock SIM card switch is turned on, tap
    Change SIM PIN
     then follow the onscreen prompts.
