Move Media Files to / from Computer

Connecting your Galaxy S10 / S10+ / S10e to a computer allows you to move photos, videos or music to free up storage space or back them up to make sure your files are safe.

Before you begin

If using a Macintosh® computer, additional software is required in order to transfer files.
Pictures or videos can also be transferred to a SD / memory card.

Steps

  1. Connect your Galaxy S10e / S10 / S10+ to a computer using the supplied USB cable.
  2. If prompted to allow access to your data, tap
    Allow
    .
    1. If necessary, touch and hold the
      Status bar
      then drag to the bottom.
    2. From the list of notifications, locate then tap the USB option (e.g., USB charging, USB for image transfer, etc.).
    3. Select
      Transferring files
      .
  3. From your computer, open File Explorer or Windows Explorer.
  4. Using File Explorer or Windows Explorer, navigate:
    Galaxy S10
    Internal shared storage
    .
  5. Utilize the computer to copy media files between the appropriate folder on the device and the desired location on the computer's hard drive.
