Pixel 4a 5G UW - Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up and manage fingerprint recognition to unlock your Pixel 4a 5G UW.
For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  2. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    .
  3. Tap
    Face & Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  4. Tap
    Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  5. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  6. Perform one of the following:
    • First Time Setup
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
      2. From the 'Set up Fingerprint Unlock' screen, review the info then tap
        I agree
        .
      3. From the 'How to set up your fingerprint' screen, tap
        Start
        .
      4. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, lightly tap the
        fingerprint sensor
         on the back of your device multiple times to scan your fingerprint.
      5. Tap
        Done
        .
    • Add More Fingerprints
      1. Tap
        Add fingerprint
        .
        Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
      2. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, lightly tap the
        fingerprint sensor
         on the back of your device multiple times to scan your fingerprint.
      3. Tap 'Done' if finished or 'Add another' to continue adding fingerprints.
    • Remove Fingerprint(s)
      1. Tap the
        Delete icon
         Delete icon to the right of the fingerprint you wish to remove.
      2. Tap
        Delete
        .
        If prompted, tap
        YES, REMOVE
         to confirm.
