Edit Share Name ID
Use My Verizon or the Verizon Protect app to edit how your name displays on someone else's Caller ID.
Before you begin
Share Name ID changes or updates can't be completed if you currently have another account change pending. Requests can take up to 24 hours to process.
Share Name ID info displays when calling another carrier that is using the service. Verizon can't guarantee the Share Name ID displays on all outgoing calls because:
- Other carriers may not support it.
- If the phone number is already programmed into the call recipient's phone with a name, Share Name ID can't override that name.
If the Share Name ID isn't showing up correctly after an update request has been completed, the person receiving the call may need to contact their service provider for support.
