Trading in your old phone?

Turn off 'Find my iPhone' on your old phone before getting started.

Hold the power button until the Motorola logo appears, then release and wait for the "Hi there" screen to appear.

From the “Hi there” screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Start.

From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Next. Allow a few minutes for activation to complete. If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network, then enter the password.

If the phone doesn't already have an active eSIM profile, scan the QR code provided to you by Verizon. To complete initial setup first and add an eSIM later, tap Need help?, then tap Skip.

From the "Use Verizon?" screen, tap Activate.

From the "Verizon is active" screen, tap Next.

If you'd like to restore your info from an old device, tap Next. If you'd like a fresh start, tap Don't copy.

Sign in to your existing Google account or create a new one.

Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then tap Yes, I’m in. Tap Skip if you don't want to connect your phone number to your Google account.

From the Google "Welcome" screen, tap the appropriate link to view the Terms of Service and/or Privacy Policy. Tap I agree.

12 Set up Google servicesStep 12 Set up Google services

From the "Google services" screen, tap any of the switches to turn them on or off. You may need to scroll down to see all of the services. Tap Accept after you've turned on all the services you want.

13 Protect your phoneStep 13 Protect your phone

From the "Set screen lock" screen, enter a PIN (at least 4 digits), then tap Next. Tap Screen lock options if you want to set up a different lock method.

14 Add your fingerprintStep 14 Add your fingerprint

From the "Unlock with your fingerprint" screen, tap Set up and then follow the on-screen instructions.

15 Review Google Assistant noticeStep 15 Review Google Assistant notice

From the "Google Assistant" screen, tap Next.

From the "Access your Assistant" screen, tap I Agree to set up Voice Match.

Review the info, then tap Next.

From the Google Pay screen, tap Add a card and then follow the on-screen prompts.

From the "Anything else?" screen, tap an option or tap No thanks to skip.

20 Download Google appsStep 20 Download Google apps

If you didn't sign in to your Google account, the phone automatically downloads certain Google apps. Tap OK to confirm.

21 Set up Verizon ServicesStep 21 Set up Verizon Services

From the "Verizon Services" screen, tap any of the switches to turn on or off and then tap Accept.

22 Set up Verizon CloudStep 22 Set up Verizon Cloud

From the "Verizon Cloud" screen, review the info and tap Next.

Note: This screen only appears if your phone is already active.

23 Set up Digital SecureStep 23 Set up Digital Secure

From the "Digital Secure" screen, tap the switch to turn on or off and then tap Accept.

From the "About your privacy" screen, read the privacy notice and then tap Accept and continue.

From the "Let's stay in touch" screen, tap either of the switches to turn on or off and then tap Next. If desired, enter your email address to receive emails from Motorola.

From the "Welcome to Verizon" screen, tap Open App to set up My Verizon, or tap Skip.

From the "Ready to go!" screen, tap Got it to complete setup.
