Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Hold the Power button until the Motorola logo appears, then release and wait for the "Hi there" screen to appear.

From the "Hi there" screen, select the appropriate language, then tap Start.

3 Activate your new moto edge+Step 3 Activate your new moto edge+

From the “Phone activation” screen, tap Next. Allow a few minutes for activation to complete. If prompted, from the “Verify Your Account” screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN. Follow the onscreen prompts, then tap Next. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.

4 Connect to Wi-FiStep 4 Connect to Wi-Fi

From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network. Enter the password or tap Skip.

5 Choose a restore methodStep 5 Choose a restore method

If you'd like to restore your info from an old device, tap Next. If you'd like a fresh start, tap Don't copy.

6 Sign in to GoogleStep 6 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your existing Google account or create a new one.

7 Set up Google ServicesStep 7 Set up Google Services

From the “Google Services” screen, tap any of the switches to turn on or off, then tap Accept. This may require scrolling to the bottom.

8 Protect your phoneStep 8 Protect your phone

From the "Set screen lock" screen, enter a lock code, then tap Next. Tap Screen lock options if you want to set up a different lock method.

9 Unlock with your fingerprintStep 9 Unlock with your fingerprint

Adding a fingerprint scan to your phone allows you to touch the fingerprint sensor to unlock it, sign in to apps or make purchases. Tap Set Up, then follow the steps to add your fingerprint, or tap Skip.

10 Google AssistantStep 10 Google Assistant

Google Assistant lets you use your voice to complete various actions on your phone and search the web. Tap Next to move to the next step of the Setup Wizard.

11 Anything elseStep 11 Anything else

From the "Anything else" screen, tap the preferred option (email, font, wallpaper, etc.), to set up or tap No thanks.

12 Set up Verizon ServicesStep 12 Set up Verizon Services

From the "Verizon Services" screen, tap any of the switches to turn on or off, then tap Accept.

13 Set up Verizon CloudStep 13 Set up Verizon Cloud

Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Agree or Skip the step.

14 Set up Digital SecureStep 14 Set up Digital Secure

Verizon Digital Secure protects your phone from malware, viruses and other threats. Set up Verizon security by tapping Accept or Skip the step.

15 Review Motorola privacy noticeStep 15 Review Motorola privacy notice

From the "Privacy & software updates" screen, tap More to review additional info on screen. Tap either of the switches to turn on or off. If desired, enter your email address to receive emails from Motorola, then tap Accept & continue.

From the "Ready to go!" screen, tap Got it to complete setup.
