Trading in your old phone?

Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.

Step 1 Turn off your old phone

Step 2 Power on your new phone

Hold the power button until the device vibrates, then release and wait for the "Welcome" screen to appear.

Step 3 Welcome

From the "Welcome" screen, select the appropriate language, then tap GO.

Step 4 Agree to the Terms and Conditions

From the "Agree to the Terms and Conditions" screen, select ALL, then tap Agree.

Step 5 Activate your new Palm Phone

From the "Device activation" screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for the activation to complete.

Step 6 Connect to Wi-Fi

From the "Connect to Wi-Fi" screen, select a network, enter the password and tap Connect or Skip the step. If your network isn't shown, tap Add Wi-Fi networks.

Step 7 Choose a restore method

From the "Set up your Palm" screen, tap Copy your data if you want to copy your backed up data from a previous device. Tap Set up as new if you don't want to restore any data.

Step 8 Sign in to Google

Sign in to your Google account or create a new one. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.

Step 9 Agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

From the "Welcome" screen, review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, then tap I agree.

Step 10 Set up Google services

Google offers a variety of services that help many of their apps function better. Review all of them and tap the corresponding switch to turn them on (you may need to scroll down to see all of the services). Switches are turned on when in the blue position. Tap ACCEPT after you've turned on all the services you want.

Step 11 Protect your Palm

  • Set up Face Recognition to use your face to unlock your phone.
  • You can also use a PIN or password.
  • Finally, you can choose Not now to bypass locking your screen.

Step 12 Google Assistant

Google Assistant allows you to use voice instructions to complete tasks on your phone. Tap I Agree to begin setup, or tap No, thanks and set it up later.

Step 13 Navigation

The navigation bar uses on-screen keys for home, back and task-switcher. If you want the navigation bar to always appear on-screen tap Always show navigation bar. Otherwise tap Auto-hide navigation bar, then tap Next.

Step 14 Register Your Palm

Enter your email to register your Palm to get tips, tricks, product updates and share feedback, otherwise tap Skip to continue without entering your email.

Step 15 You're all done

Tap Got it to complete setup.
