  • 4 Ways to Stop Annoying and Unwanted Calls

red house with a white phone emblazoned across the frontAre you tired of annoying and unwanted phone calls? Verizon has 4 ways to help you block calls on your home phone.
    1. If you haven’t already, sign up for Call Block, Caller ID, or Anonymous Call Rejection. Don’t forget Caller ID/ Call Waiting.

    2. If you are a Verizon FIOS customer you can register with Nomorobo

    3. Register your home number, your cell phones, as many numbers in your household with National Do Not Call Registry at www.donotcall.gov. You can also call 1.888.382.1222 (TTY: 1.866.290.4236) from the phone that you want to register. Numbers registered on the National Do Not Call Registry do not expire. Tell companies you are listed on the Do Not Call Registry. If after 31 days they continue to call you can report companies to the FTC by calling or visiting them online. You will need to have the telephone number you are reporting, the date and time of the unwanted call. You do not need to know the name of the caller.

    4. If you want more information on steps you can take to combat unlawful and unwanted calls or to establish a case, call Verizon Security at 1.800.518.5507, Or follow the instructions given to you when you have invoked the *57 Call Trace from the phone that just received the unwanted call. If you feel your account is being threatened by any type of fraud or similar abuse, send Verizon an email at abuse@verizon.net.
There are other online call blocking services and call blocking boxes that block unwanted calls. Check your local retail store or search online.

Let’s get you back to doing the things you want to and fall in love with your home phone again.
