  • Customizing Your Mailbox - Fios Digital Voice

    Verizon Fios® Digital Voice Voice Mail comes with several special options. Language Options The system prompts that you and your callers hear can be set to English or Spanish.

    To change the Language Option to Spanish:

    1. Dial the Voice Mail system.

    2. When the system answers, enter your passcode.

    3. At the Main Menu, press 4 for Personal Options.

    4. Press 1 for Personal Profile.

    5. Press 2 to Change Language.

    6. Press 2 for Spanish.
    Change Ring Cycle You can choose how many times your phone will ring before Voice Mail picks up. You can set your Voice Mail system to answer after 2 to 6 rings.

    To change your Ring Cycle:

    1. Open the Account Manager.

    2. At the Home page click Voice Mail Settings on the left side of the page.

    3. Click Telephone Settings.

    4. Select the number of rings (between 2 and 6) that you want the phone to ring before forwarding to Voice Mail.

    5. Click Save Settings.
    Voice Mail With Email Notification You can arrange to receive an email alert when you receive new messages.

    To set up an email notification:

    1. Open the Account Manager.

    2. Click Voice Mail Settings.

    3. Click Voice Mail Notifications.

    4. Check Sending me an email and enter your email address.

    5. If you only want to be notified of urgent messages, click the Urgent Messages Only box.

    6. If you would like to have a copy of the voicemail attached as a .wav file to your email, click the Attach voice mail in email alert box.

    7. Click Save Settings.

    You can set up notifications for paging and text messaging by following the same steps; however, select Send to this cell number for text notification and Send to this pager number for pager notification. Be sure to select the device provider from the drop down list for these functions.

    Once you have created your notification options from the Fios Digital Voice Account Manager you can turn the notifications on or off by calling your Voice Mail access number 1-888-2FIOSVM (1.888.234.6786) and following these steps (Note: Beginning January 1, 2016, Fios Digital Voice Customers in CA, FL and TX, your Access Number is 1.844.387.5200):

    1. Dial your Fios Digital Voice Access Number 1.888.2FIOSVM (1.888.234.6786) Note: Beginning January 1, 2016, Fios Digital Voice Customers in CA, FL and TX, your Access Number is 1.844.387.5200.

    2. Press 4 for Personal Options.

    3. Press 1 for Personal Profile.

    4. Press 3 for Notification Options.

    5. Press 3 to turn on or off Text Messaging notification.

    6. Press 4 to turn on or off Pager notification.
