What you'll need:
Trading in your old phone?
Remove your Google account from your old phone before getting started.
Step 2 Power on your new phone
Press and hold the power button until the Samsung Galaxy S8 screen appears, then release.
3 Enter your Verizon PINStep 3 Enter your Verizon PIN
If prompted, from the "Verify Your Account" screen, enter your Verizon Account PIN and follow the onscreen prompts. If you forgot it, reset or create your Account PIN.
Step 4 Welcome
From the "Welcome" screen, select the appropriate language then tap Next.
Step 5 Activate your new Galaxy S8
From the "Phone activation" screen, tap Next. Please allow a few minutes for the activation to complete.
Step 6 Connect to Wi-Fi
From the "Set up Wi-Fi" screen, select a network, enter the password and tap Connect. Tap Add network or Refresh List if your network isn't shown.
Step 7 Sign in to Google
From the "Add your account" (Google) screen, sign in with your Google account or create a new account. Signing in to Google allows you to access Gmail and your Google apps.
Step 8 Protect your phone
- Set up Face Recognition to use your face to unlock your phone.
- Fingerprint Scanner will use your fingerprint to unlock your phone.
- Select Iris Scanner to use your eye(s) to unlock your phone.
- Finally you can also use a PIN, pattern or password.
- You can choose No, thank you to bypass locking your screen.
Step 9 Verizon Cloud
Verizon Cloud gives you added protection by backing up your important information to the cloud. Set up Verizon Cloud by tapping Next, or skip the step.
Step 10 Email setup
Select an email account type then enter your sign-in info to add your email.
Step 11 Samsung account
From the "Personalize your phone" screen, add or create a Samsung account and adjust your zoom and font settings.
Step 12 You're all done
Tap Got It to complete setup.
